ICCREM 2023: The Human-Centered Construction Transformation

Trailing suction hopper dredger are large equipment in dredging engineering, and accurate construction state prediction is of great significance for engineering construction. A virtual sensor technology suitable for instrument detection and mechanical fault monitoring of trailing suction dredgers is proposed, and a theoretical model and solution based on virtual sensor design for trailing suction dredgers are constructed. This framework first utilizes feature selection methods to analyze continuous dynamic monitoring data during the construction operation period, obtain key parameters that affect fault problems, and use a combination of multiple artificial intelligence models for accurate prediction of construction status. The method is tested using a flow rate sensor as an example, and the performance of the model is verified under error indicators.

Although social sustainability is a global issue, obtaining increasingly more recognition, its achievement hinges on the local context. Given that the social sustainability performance of residential communities in China is still an under-researched area, it is worthwhile to investigate how social sustainable subsidized housing estates (SHEs) are. This paper aims to develop an analytical framework for evaluating the social sustainability performance of SHEs in China to achieve more socially sustainable SHEs. Initially, the evolution and social issues of Guangzhou’s SHEs are explored, followed by a detailed literature review on social sustainability. A model is proposed for examining the social sustainability performance of Guangzhou’s SHEs, and an analytical framework is constructed to investigate the underlying forces influencing their planning. This paper argues that, given the peculiar issues associated with the reforms in China, improvements in the SHE planning for enhancing social sustainability must be based on an in-depth understanding of the forces underlying the planning practices.

Construction workers, who work outdoors, are influenced by the environment, which affects their labor productivity. Under the “dual-carbon” target, energy conservation and green, low-carbon construction have become new requirements for the construction industry. A series of measures have been taken to change some conditions in the construction environment, which have affected the labor productivity of construction workers. In order to implement low-carbon methods in the construction industry and improve the labor productivity of workers, a comprehensive analysis using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling was conducted to explore the impact of various factors in the construction environment on labor productivity. The results indicate that the construction environment affects labor productivity through the physical health and job satisfaction of construction workers, with the impact of physical health being greater. Among the factors in the construction environment, noise pollution has the greatest impact on the physical health of workers, while air pollution has the most significant impact on their job satisfaction. The research findings provide suggestions for improving the labor productivity of construction workers under the low-carbon target and for improving the construction environment.

With the “Double-carbon” target put forward for the first time in China, green building becomes the key direction of energy saving and emissions reduction in the future. BIM technology is a new technology which adapts to the national green ecological construction. The 3D stereo model is built by digital technology. The simulation project is designed, constructed, and operated until the end of the whole life cycle of the building, realize the management and control of the cost in the whole process management of the life cycle. BIM technology can not only improve the efficiency of measurement, but also improve the accuracy of cost measurement, greatly reduce the cost of construction, and reduce the input of manpower and materials. BIM technology strengthens the whole process of construction cost management, effectively improve work efficiency, save resources, reduce costs, to achieve green, and sustainable development.

As humanity realizes the severe consequences of global warming, carbon emissions have gained widespread attention. Comrade Jinping Xi pointed out in the 20th Party Congress of the People’s Republic of China that we should steadily promote carbon neutralization, improve total energy consumption and intensity regulation, and gradually shift to a “dual control” system for total carbon emissions and intensity. The construction industry undoubtedly has substantial carbon emissions compared to other industries, but it also presents a significant opportunity for emissions reduction. Therefore, this paper will take a campus dormitory building in Heilongjiang, China, as an example and use the building carbon emissions measurement model to measure the carbon emissions of the building and propose energy-saving and carbon-reducing measures for the campus dormitory building. The results show that the total carbon emissions in the construction phase of the building is 12,000.02 t, and the full carbon emissions in the one-year operation phase is 72,213.72 kg. The carbon emissions in the operation phase of the building mainly comes from the air conditioning, electrical lighting system, and heat transfer between the building and the outside world, and there is more room for carbon reduction in such buildings. Based on the above analysis, this paper analyzes the ways and strategies of energy saving and carbon reduction in campus dormitory buildings from four aspects: technology application, energy consumption behavior, material energy efficiency, and clean energy. This paper provides a reference and reference for the study of carbon emissions measurement and carbon neutral work of existing dormitory buildings in universities, and provides suggestions for the construction of low-carbon and sustainable campus buildings.

As a pillar industry of China’s national economy, the sustainable development of the construction industry has attracted much attention. Based on the current sustainable development requirements of the construction industry, this paper analyzes the current development status of the industry, and constructs a sustainable development evaluation model of the construction industry based on the entropy weight and VIKOR method. The model first determines the weight of each evaluation index by the entropy weight method, and then uses the VIKOR method to rank the sustainability of China’s construction industry in the past 5 years. Finally, we put forward relevant suggestions for the sustainable development of China’s construction industry according to the evaluation results.

China’s booming economy and rapid urbanization raise the carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions associated with buildings and infrastructure construction, threatening the delivery of low-carbon built environment. This study employed a multiregional input-output model to quantify the embodied CO₂ emissions of China’s construction industry at the provincial level. The embodied CO₂ emissions of China’s construction industry were estimated at 3,770 million tons in 2017 (with an intensity of 0.176 kgCO₂/yuan), and Jiangsu (8.8%), Shandong (7.4%), and Hebei (7.2%) were the main contributors. The construction industry’s CO₂ footprints are dominated by the sectors of electricity and heat generation (43.1%), metal smelting and pressing (20%), and nonmetal mineral products (19.3%). The results of this study identify the spatial pattern and key source sectors of the carbon footprint of China’s construction industry, contributing to the sector’s sustainable transition.

Through the field investigation and research of several old residential renovation projects in Wuhan, Hubei Province in China, to understand the design concepts and evaluation standard, and the theoretical basis for establishing the evaluation system. This paper studies the selection of evaluation indicators and the construction of the system of green renovation sustainability of old residential areas. According to the regional characteristics of Hubei Province in China and the connotation of green transformation of the old residential areas, the evaluation index system of green transformation sustainability was constructed from the five directions. They are technical sustainability, economic sustainability, social and cultural sustainability, ecological environmental sustainability, and operation and management sustainability. The weight of the evaluation index was also determined. To avoid the problem that experts with different experience have the same weight in the scoring method, the expert weight calculation method based on FCE-AHP is adopted. The evaluation model of the sustainability of the green renovation of the old residential areas was established through the FCE-AHP evaluation method, and the evaluation standards and evaluation levels was determined. The case study shows that the evaluation model established in this paper can provide valuable suggestions for the green renovation projects of the old residential areas in Hubei Province of China, and provide theoretical reference value for the research of the green renovation projects of the old residential areas in other parts of China.

As a pillar industry of China’s national economy, the construction industry has become one of the important sectors for energy conservation and emissions reduction. This study aims to analyze the trends in carbon emissions in the construction industry of Guangdong Province and its influencing factors. The STIRPAT model and ridge regression in SPSS were employed to examine the impact of factors such as population and economy on carbon emissions. Additionally, using the Moran model based on the temporal and spatial development of Guangdong Province’s economy, the spatial effects of carbon emissions in different regions of Guangdong Province were analyzed. Finally, based on the actual situation of Guangdong Province, empirical research was conducted to propose recommendations for energy conservation and emissions reduction strategies. The research results indicate that the current carbon emissions in the construction industry of Guangdong Province remain high. The transformation of energy structure and the development of high-tech environmental protection technology are effective approaches for long-term adjustments in the construction industry of Guangdong Province.

Green and low-carbon development has become a trendsetter for urban and rural construction in China. Key research areas and priority development themes include green building, energy conservation, and the utilization of agricultural and forest biological resources. The replacement of traditional building materials with bamboo or timber aligns with national strategic needs. However, bamboo, as a traditional regional building material, still faces questions in contemporary architectural practice. This paper presents an empirical analysis of bamboo building applications both domestically and abroad, summarizes its advantages and shortcomings, and explores the applicability of bamboo building materials. The goal is to provide references for green building design practice.

Based on the relevant data of the carbon emissions of the construction industry in Hubei Province in China from 2000 to 2020, this paper uses the logarithmic mean Divisia index model (LMDI) to identify and analyze the influencing factors of the construction industry, establishes the regression equation for the influencing factors through the extended STIRPAT model, verifies the accuracy of the equation by fitting the historical data, and finally uses the scenario analysis method to set different scenario parameters to predict the peak carbon emissions and peak time of the construction industry in Hubei Province. The results show that the carbon emissions of the construction industry in Hubei Province in China showed a fluctuating upward trend from 2010 to 2019, and reached a peak in 2015. The energy mix is the main reason for the increase in carbon emissions, with energy intensity being the biggest inhibitor. The scenario analysis shows that the baseline scenario will peak in 2027, the low-carbon scenario will peak carbon in 2024, and the high-carbon scenario will not be able to peak before 2030.

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is an effective method for construction environmental impact assessment. However, the traditional LCA is suitable to assess the static process and it is challenging to use real-time information for dynamic assessment. In this study, the Bayesian update is introduced into the LCA to facilitate the dynamic assessment of environmental impact caused by serious mud leakage during the construction of the pile foundation of the cross-sea bridge. Through the Bayesian update, the real-time information is used to update and predict the subsequent conditions of construction, to provide recent information for the impact assessment of construction. This method makes it possible to carry out real-time preventions and control measures for environmental pollutions. Proposed method improves the accuracy of environmental impact assessment, and it could provide the on-site managers with informed environmentally-friendly construction decisions.

The Implementation Plan for the National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone (Hainan) vows to bring about a new pattern of harmonious coexistence of mankind and nature in China’s modernization drive, and reduce the pollution caused by the construction industry in the production process, which is the problem to be solved in the construction of ecological civilization. This paper uses the energy type method to measure the carbon emissions of the construction industry in Hainan Province from 2005 to 2020, and uses the super-efficiency SBM model to calculate the ecological efficiency of the construction industry in Hainan with carbon emissions as undesired outputs. The results show that the carbon emissions of the construction industry in Hainan Province are increasing year by year, and the ecological efficiency of the construction industry is in the forefront of the country, but it is not stable over time and does not show regular changes.

The old city of Beijing represents the essence of the capital’s culture. Situated in Xicheng District, the Tianning Temple area is a blend of bungalow buildings and modern structures. The vicinity is rich in historical and cultural artifacts, and the transportation infrastructure is convenient. However, the area also faces numerous contradictions and challenges, such as inadequate living conditions and insufficient supporting facilities and infrastructure. In this context, the paper focuses on the residents’ daily life and adopts the old city neighborhood as the research scope. A comprehensive green evaluation framework is developed, encompassing seven dimensions: site ecology, buildings, spatial environment, culture, society, facilities, and governance. Drawing from the findings related to living environment, street space, infrastructure renovation, supporting facilities enhancement, and cultural heritage preservation, a green renewal strategy is proposed for the old city neighborhood.

In the era of “stock planning” of urban development, the reconstruction of old communities is an effective way to stimulate urban vitality, which is of great significance to improve residents’ quality of life and shape urban quality. Taking the old community of Dalian 523 factory as the research object, this paper puts forward an idea on how to use environmental elements to glow the vitality of the community. Based on the theory of arousal in psychology as a support for research, based on people’s realistic needs for the site. Questionnaire survey and field research were used to summarize the existing problems and analyze the data. It is found that the environmental elements can enrich the vitality of the region in function and level when they awaken people’s emotional experience. Therefore, this paper puts forward reasonable strategies of community renewal and transformation from the four angles of regional culture, spatial diversity, neighborhood communication, and industrial development. On the basis of the above theoretical and empirical research, it provides relevant ideas and solutions for similar old community vitality construction.

Small public spaces are very small, but through refined design, to make the particularly negative small spaces into safe and comfortable as well as green and beautiful, with cultural memory, and also various service facilities and activity facilities, is the goal of small micro-space project renewal design. This project takes a community public space renovation project as an example, and updates the original space into a covered park, i.e., a public area that integrates recreation, public art, and science education. It complements the shortcomings of the community, and turns the originally dilapidated negative space into a green space with value. At the same time, a cost analysis of the project is also conducted with a view to improving the efficiency of cost management and effectively controlling the project cost.

In order to achieve carbon neutrality, heavy industry cities must modify the heavy industry-dominated industrial structure and create a green economy that emphasizes green to increase the overall strength of the city. The current state of Tangshan’s industrial structure was evaluated, three industrial transformation modes were offered, and they were then contrasted starting with the necessity of green transformation of industrial structure in heavy industrial cities. The industrial structure of Tangshan was evaluated using the deviation share analysis model, and when paired with other influencing factors, the best industrial transformation option was identified. The findings indicate that Tangshan’s industrial structure is irrational, but the city’s geographic location is advantageous, and its industrial policy encourages the green transformation of the city’s industrial structure. The development of emerging industries and tertiary industries is the direction of Tangshan’s transformation; the mode of transformation might be any compound mode. The countermeasures and recommendations for an industrial green transformation in heavy industry cities against a backdrop of carbon neutrality were put out based on the research findings.

In recent years, urbanization has gradually changed from “high-speed development” to “high-quality development,” in which the transformation of old residential areas plays an important role. The reconstruction of old residential areas makes the government face great financial pressure and management pressure, so PPP model is suitable for reconstruction. However, in the PPP model, the core interest subject government and social capital have the problem of uneven profit distribution. To solve this problem, this paper constructs an effective benefit distribution model based on Shapley value method, and introduces four impact factors, including capital investment ratio, risk sharing ratio, contribution degree, and contract performance degree, to revise the model. Combined with the actual case, it is found that the profit distribution of the improved Shapley value method is more scientific and rational in the reconstruction project of the old residential area, which improves the enthusiasm of the cooperation between the government and the enterprise in the PPP mode.

With the continuous promotion of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality,” the real estate industry, as an industry with high carbon emissions and great competitive pressure, needs to actively explore a more green and more socially valuable development mode. Green transformation of real estate enterprises is inevitable. ESG (“environmental, social, and corporate governance”) represents a concept of sustainability beyond purely economic benefits. ESG provides a method for green transformation of real estate enterprises. In this paper, ESG is integrated into the green transformation of enterprises, so as to solve the development problems of real estate enterprises. Through case analysis and financial data analysis, this paper expounds the application method and cost-benefit of ESG implementation in real estate enterprises. Finally, this paper puts forward four suggestions, including promoting green buildings, carrying out green operation management in the whole life cycle, improving the proportion of green financing, and building green supply chain. The conclusion of this paper provides ideas for green transformation and innovative sustainable development of real estate enterprises.

With the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, low-carbon development in Chinese rural areas has played an increasing important role in achieving the goal of carbon neutrality. Identifying the distribution characteristics and problems of rural “production-living-ecological” space (PLES) is of great significance for optimization of Chinese rural areas. At present, there are lots of researches from different perspectives at country, province, and city levels examining the rural PLES, such as the functional perspective of land use and economic perspective. Functions and values of carbon sink, the photovoltaic industry and so on, while the perspective of carbon-neutral at the village scale is less touched. Therefore, a case study was conducted in Feima Village in Maoming, by using the methods of multi-source data analysis and participatory rural appraisal. The result showed that rich ecological resources and carbon sinks in the ecological space (ES), high-carbon and unregulated production methods in the production space (PS), and lack of behavioral guidance for villagers in the living space (LS), and it was a challenge for constructing the low-carbon and sustainable development of villages in terms of the management of the PLES. Research indicated that the local government should scientifically protect ecological resources, develop low-carbon industries, raise residents’ awareness of environmental protection, and adjust the current governance structure to optimize the PLES.

The development of prefabricated construction in China has been hindered, with one important factor being the high cost of precast concrete components. To better control the cost of prefabricated construction and promote its coordinated development, this paper used factor analysis to identify 26 factors that influence component costs. By establishing a coupled coordination degree model, two key factors were identified: regional economy and price index. In conjunction with the specific situation of prefabricated construction in Shaanxi Province, the sensitivity of the constituent elements of two critical factors for controlling precast concrete component costs was determined. By regulating the range of sensitive factor changes to obtain the optimal range, costs can be effectively reduced. This paper provides a reference for relevant departments to formulate strategies and implement regulation.

This study aims to reduce carbon emissions of rural residence from the perspective of the life-cycle assessment and optimized building design. The main reasons for the high energy consumption and high carbon emissions of rural residence are investigated, after which potential solutions are explored. First of all, this study is based on the life cycle assessment, with an adequately demonstrated the feasibility and necessity of developing prefabricated rural residence in the western Sichuan Plain from three aspects of economy, applicability, and carbon emissions. Secondly, the optimal structure of typical prefabricated rural residence was selected from the comprehensive economic and carbon evaluation. Finally, by using a building energy consumption simulation software to optimize building envelope, window to wall ratio and spatial distribution in the use stage of the prefabricated rural residence, and a low-carbon design scheme is proposed according to the resident demand, providing reference for the design of rural prefabricated residence.

We study restrictive factors and their corresponding importance of the formation of the industrial chain for prefabricated buildings in Hainan Province. First, 14 restrictive factors were extracted from a literature search, and then data were collected through questionnaires, following which SPSS statistical software was used to do a reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis of the valid data. Then four common factors were extracted, the hierarchical analysis model was established, and weight analysis was carried out. The weight of each common factor from large to small is economic benefit, government and market external factors, industry level, and enterprise ability. Of the 14 restrictive factors, the most important is “low return on investment in the prefabricated construction industry,” followed by “imperfect government incentives for constructing prefabricated buildings industrial chain.” Finally, we propose specific measures to promote the formation of industrial chains for prefabricated buildings; these measures involve government economic incentives, industrial alliances, in-house enterprise technology and management, and social recognition. The research results provide references for policy formulation by the relevant government departments.

Construction industry is the foundation of the economy of PRC and its modernization level has improved greatly since the 18th National Congress of the CPC. However, Chinese construction industry is still “big but not strong” and there is a huge gap compared with that in advanced countries. The paper proposes that Chinese construction enterprises should jointly implement green construction and lean construction in order to minimize the resource consumption, improve construction efficiency, and do contribution to eco-friendly society, which can promote Chinese construction industry to become more powerful. Firstly, it compares lean construction with green construction to find out the what and how to integrate them efficiently. Secondly, it puts forward some people-oriented strategies to integrate lean and green successfully since we believe that people are the most important factor that determines the effect of the integration to help construction enterprises enhance their competition in the world.

The rapid urbanization process has generated a large quantity of construction and demolition (C&D) waste over the past two decades. Properly dealing with C&D waste is crucial for achieving sustainable development. Due to 3R principles, waste recycling is widely accepted as the ideal measure to turn waste into treasure. Additionally, incentive policies play a vital role in promoting the development of waste recycling. However, the development of C&D waste recycling in developing countries has been unsatisfactory. In light of this situation, this study proposes an incentive policy based on subsidies and environmental taxes. The feasibility of using subsidy and environmental tax is verified, and the impact of incentive policy is discussed by using a game theory model. Furthermore, a minimum threshold for the effective subsidy level is determined. The results would provide valuable insights for construction and demolition waste management.

In order to improve the efficiency of the collaborative management of project groups in construction enterprises and to investigate the key factors and mechanisms affecting the synergy of project groups in construction enterprises, based on the literature review, the factors affecting the collaborative innovation of project groups were sorted out and a social network analysis model was constructed by combining the characteristics of project groups; data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed by using Ucinet6 software. The results of the study show that inter-project relatedness, shared values, and resource sharing are the key influencing factors, and propose countermeasures to promote multi-entity synergy in three aspects: improving resource sharing, formulating a reasonable management system, and prioritising projects according to inter-project relatedness and other factors, which provide theoretical reference and reference for enterprises to improve the synergy ability of project group management.

Recently, question answering (QA) systems have gained widespread adoption in numerous aspects of daily life. These systems are designed to provide accurate and timely answers by simply posing a question. Given massive amounts of unstructured data in the construction industry, QA systems could serve as a potent tool for designers and engineers to access the knowledge and experiences in a straightforward and intuitive manner, thereby reducing communication challenges and enhancing productivity. The latest generation of QA systems, ChatGPT, seems to be knowledgeable and often provides well-informed, authoritative, and imaginative answers, which could potentially revolutionize the traditional construction sector. To provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the application of QA systems in the construction field, this paper initially reviews the classification of QA systems; then summaries the existing application achievements; and finally, comprehensively synthesized the main challenges and the future development of QA systems in the construction industry.

Energy-efficient building retrofitting plays a crucial role in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions within the building sector. Energy-efficient retrofitting brings about changes in the built environment and it could influence the occupant behaviors. Additionally, occupant behaviors, in turn, alter the indoor environment, thereby affecting the comfort performance of the building after retrofitting. To explore this intricate relation between occupant behaviors and comfort performances of energy-efficient measures, this paper employs a data-driven approach to compile a comprehensive dataset encompassing occupant behaviors, energy-efficient measures, and associated indoor comfort of an office building in Umeå University, Sweden. Multiple binary logistic regression is applied to quantify the relationship between occupant behaviors and comfort performances of energy-efficient measures. The findings of this study hold significant value, providing guidance for occupants in adapting to energy-efficient measures while also informing future retrofitting implementation.

Haidong City is pursuing to build as the smart cities in Qinghai Province, western China. To reach the goal of collective prosperity, in the building procedure of smart cities, the selection of the e-commerce distribution mode for agricultural products is becoming a key issue. How to form a complete logistics system in the smart cities is thus be focused. In this study, we propose a common distribution model of agricultural products e-commerce logistics in Haidong City based on AHP with revised weight TOPSIS method. The result indicates that the best scheme is joint distribution mode relying on the supply and marketing cooperatives, which can be provided for the e-commerce distribution mode selection for agricultural products in smart cities.

This article takes residential space experience as the starting point, focusing on the emotional perception of space users. By studying typical residential areas and based on qualitative research on the characteristics of public spaces within these areas, a combination of spatial syntax analysis and empirical research using quantitative methods to measure the emotions of space users is conducted. The analysis aims to identify the correlation and influencing factors between the characteristics of public spaces within residential areas and the actual emotional perception of the users. From the perspective of emotional perception, optimization suggestions are proposed for the humanized design of public spaces within residential areas.

With the rise of the concept of integrating culture and tourism, the redesign of traditional villages driven by tourism has become an effective way to realize their cultural inheritance and rural revitalization. However, the blind development of some villages has accelerated the destruction of their residential space. How to reasonably protect and update the traditional village residential buildings is an important issue currently facing. This paper sorts out the mechanism of the activation design of traditional village residential buildings from the perspective of the integration of culture and tourism. Based on the theory of active protection and organic renewal, taking Daliangjiang Village in Shijiazhuang City as an example, the paper systematically analyzes the forms and existing problems of residential buildings, classifies residential buildings, and puts forward the human-oriented active renewal strategy of traditional villages, which makes use of the village’s traditional residential buildings and cultural tourism resources. Promote the improvement of the overall village style and generate a sustainable virtuous cycle, providing theoretical reference for the active protection and renewal design of traditional village residential buildings.

In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge management has a great impact on the development of enterprises. The purpose of implementing knowledge management in enterprises is to improve enterprise performance and maintain competitive advantage in the competitive market environment to seek long-term development of the organization. Knowledge management can improve enterprise performance, but the transformation mechanism between them needs to be further explored. At the same time, as knowledge and information become the analysis dimension of management strategy, it is necessary to strengthen the intervention of enterprise knowledge management system. This paper constructs the relationship model between knowledge management, strategic management, and enterprise performance, and puts forward relevant assumptions. Taking construction enterprises in East China as the research object, it verifies the impact of knowledge management on enterprise performance through empirical research, and the intermediary role of strategic management in the relationship between the two.

In order to improve the application of BIM technology in the owner, and thus have the conditions for digital transformation, it is necessary to evaluate the maturity of BIM application capability according to it. According to the key points of the owner’s management of the project at the four levels of process, organization, technology, and standard, the evaluation model of the maturity of the owner’s ability to apply BIM technology is constructed; the evaluation indexes at all levels are determined according to Delphi technology, and the maturity level is finally determined by the combination of analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy evaluation method. Through empirical analysis, the universality of the model is verified to provide a reference for the maturity assessment of the owner’s ability to use BIM technology.

With the rapid development of smart construction, BIM and GIS have become important tools for the informatization and intelligence of civil engineering. BIM provides information on the entire life cycle of buildings, while GIS provides geographic environmental information around buildings. Combining BIM and GIS can achieve comprehensive upgrades. Although certain achievements have been made in the application research of BIM and GIS, the technology and integration application of BIM+ GIS is still in the exploratory stage. This paper summarizes the current research and application status of BIM+ GIS, analyzes and discusses the technical compatibility of BIM and GIS, and introduces the application of BIM+ GIS technology in engineering construction, transportation, energy management, and smart cities. The challenges and bottlenecks in this field are also summarized, and the future development direction of BIM+ GIS technology is discussed. This paper provides a reference for the deepening research on the integration of the two technologies.

As the most typical and important heritage type of the industrial heritage of the South Manchurian Railway, the station buildings are gradually withdrawn from the historical stage with the renewal and development of the city, and the current conservation and management of its different sections are mostly from a single building, but not yet in the same source through the method of comparison to protect and build a more complete cognitive system. This paper adopts the research methods of field research, historical collation, and longitudinal comparison to analyze and compare the differences in architectural style, design tendency, and building construction between the two countries during the colonial period, taking the station buildings built by Japan and Russia in Manchurian Railway as the entry point, and to provide renewal strategies for the subsequent protection and sustainable development of the station buildings of South Manchurian Railway.

Prefabrication technology (PT) is regarded as an effective way to reduce CO₂ emissions from material and construction stages of buildings. However, constrained by the ambiguous patterns of PT diffusion, the application of this technology in China faces a lot of difficulties and lags far behind developed countries. To overcome this problem, this study proposes a two-stage evolutionary model based on complex network. The results show that: (1) Before 2016 was the initial stage of introducing PT into the Chinese market, and the diffusion rate is below 4.9%. (2) From 2016 to 2025 is the policy-driven stage. More adopters emerge under both incentive and mandatory policies proposed by governments, so the diffusion rate rapidly rises to around 33%. (3) From 2025 to 2035, the development of PT will enter a stage driven by both policies and market effects. The amount of market adoption grows steadily, which helps the overall diffusion rate increase to about 45%.

The study of street space quality optimization strategies has a more objective foundation thanks to the ongoing development of emotional assessment methodologies. Assessing users’ emotional perception of the built environment is an important method to assess the quality of urban street space. This study chooses some typical Beijing commercial pedestrian streets and uses spatial emotion perception measurement as a starting point to quantify and summarize the patterns of street space characteristics from an emotion-oriented perspective, and provide design recommendations for pedestrian spaces in commercial streets guided by positive emotions. This will further contribute to the theoretical research on improving the quality of street spaces, and suggest specific pedestrian street revitalization solutions, and investigate how “mood-space” is coupled.

Prefabricated buildings have become a key focus in China’s construction industry in recent years, with assembled building as a main development direction. The stability of the component supply chain plays a vital role in the construction of prefabricated buildings. This study first defined the resilience of the supply chain and established a corresponding index system. An evaluation model, based on interval intuition fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (IIAHP) and set pair analysis (SPA), was then proposed. The IIAHP method was used to address the uncertainty of expert opinions in weight calculation, while SPA was applied for static evaluation. The Resettlement Housing Project of Taohua South Road in Nanchang, China, was chosen for a case study. Results showed that the supply chain was robust, with the redundancy rate of component supply and emergency management ability being the main influencing factors. This paper concludes with several suggestions.

Prefabricated building as an emerging way of production is gaining increasing attention from practitioners and researchers. Given the rapid advancement of prefabricated building research and the high efficiency, short period and low cost superiority in construction process, a state-of-the-art review of implementations and research in this field is needed. It is aimed to provide an objective and extensive bibliometric analysis of the published articles on prefabricated building for the period of 2012–2022. CiteSpace (basic) software was used to conduct co-citation analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and cluster identification on 780 identified articles. The results show that six research clusters (e.g., prefabricated construction, life cycle assessment, and supply chain management) were essential in the development of prefabricated buildings. The results highlight the evolution of prefabricated building research in both civil engineering and project management, revealing the underlying structure of this cross-cutting research area. Analysis has also been done to summarize the status quo of prefabricated building in the technology and management field and provides some promising research directions.

The study literature on the construction supply chain for the preceding 20 years was investigated and screened by How Net, and after screening and analysis, 107 noteworthy documents were discovered. On these 107 papers, VOSviewer conducts statistical and quantitative keyword literature analysis, in addition to content analysis and information extraction. Three research hotspots and trends are analyzed. Through content analysis and information extraction, the key research materials, technical applications, and research methodology in this field are gathered. The limitations of this field are then examined, along with potential directions for future study.

Building information modeling (BIM) technology advancements and applications in the prefabricated construction (PC) environment contribute to increased productivity and innovation in the construction industry. Relevant studies have either concentrated on the application of BIM in the PC environment at specific stages, or on the integration of numerous developing technologies. This paper uses a bibliometric analysis method to systematically conduct data mining and quantitative analysis on 380 papers about BIM in the PC environment in the Scopus database from 2013 to 2022. The overall state and predominant fields of research are then provided by regions, main authors, top journals, and disciplines. The co-citation clustering analysis of keywords is further performed. Information interoperability and decision support, design optimization, and technological integration are all current study topics. Future BIM and PC development will integrate with other new digital technologies, streamlining the integration process and enhancing productivity. With the integration of BIM and PC, this paper will be informative for academics and promote the digital revolution of the construction industry.

The ideological and political of course is a new mode of college students’ ideological and political education. Therefore, it is important to explore the influencing factors of the teaching effect of curriculum ideological and political content. In this paper, undergraduates of engineering management major are taken as the survey object, and an evaluation system is constructed to analyze the influencing factors of ideological and political content teaching effect. The results show that: (1) Gender has a certain influence on the teaching effect of ideological and political content in the curriculum, the teaching effect of female students is slightly better than that of male students; (2) grade has an impact on the teaching effect of ideological and political content, the higher the grade, the better the teaching effect of ideological and political content; (3) the teaching effect of ideological and political content is better than that of ideological and political course; (4) the ideological and political teaching effect of practical courses is better than that of theoretical courses. The research results provide the reference for teaching effect assessment mechanism. The specialized course teacher should enhance their ability of ideological education.

In recent years, the development of high-speed railway (HSR) has been regarded by some scholars as the “grey rhinoceros” of China’s economy, which is mainly due to the lack of systematic and comprehensive evaluation methods to objectively evaluate the economic and social benefits of high-speed railway. Based on the professional characteristics of high-speed rail construction projects, this study introduces the theory of project post-evaluation method, constructs a scientific and reasonable post-evaluation system of high-speed rail construction projects, and clarifies the key contents of post-evaluation of high-speed rail construction. The application of post-evaluation method system of high-speed rail project will provide necessary support for the subsequent planning and construction decision-making of high-speed rail project, and also provide reference for all sectors of society to understand the importance of high-speed rail project more clearly.

Urban ecological security is an important prerequisite for sustainable economic and social development and an important guarantee for satisfying people’s pursuit of a better life. This paper takes the situation of urban ecological security governance in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, from 2011 to 2020 as the research object, and takes the overall level of ecological security governance as the target level. Five dimensions, driving force, pressure, state, impact, and response, are taken as the criterion layer. Thirty evaluation indexes were selected as the factor layer. The ecological security governance evaluation index system DPSIR is constructed, and Matlab, comprehensive entropy weight method, coefficient of variation method, and TOPSIS model are used to conduct an empirical study on the overall situation of urban ecological security governance. Based on the research results, the paper puts forward some suggestions on urban ecological security governance.

This paper aims to analyze the spatial structure of residential and employment areas in the context of polycentric urban development using mobile phone signaling data. The study examines the spatial distribution and morphological centrality of residential and employment centers, utilizing employment and population size. The functional centrality index, derived from relative degree and network density, is used to reveal the functional connectivity characteristics of these centers. The study also applies the rank-size method to assess the equilibrium of functional and morphological centrality, enabling a comparison of the development levels of polycentric structures in residential and employment contexts. The findings indicate that Shenzhen’s residential and employment spatial configuration exhibit functional polycentricity and morphological monocentricity. Notably, the residential arrangement is more polycentric than employment in both morphological and functional dimensions. The study provides insights into the spatial structural differences between housing and employment and the potential for bridging the gap between them.

With the development of digitalization, smart lighting has become an important means of urban cultural transmission and an indispensable part of urban renewal. This paper studies smart lighting’s help to urban renewal and development under the background of urban culture, taking the Project of Pedestrian Street of Shenyang Center Street as the main line of research, which discusses urban renewal, smart lighting, urban culture, application research of smart lighting, and smart lighting research of the Pedestrian Street of Shenyang Center Street. Apply smart lighting to urban renewal and urban development, polish the artistic quality of urban space, stimulate the vitality of urban industry, promote the “artistic, scenario-based and experiential” of urban space, and create an “urban sample” of urban renewal. By using the design method of deep integration of smart lighting and urban culture, aiming at improving people’s living quality, high-quality urban renewal and development will be achieved eventually.

Since the 14th Five-Year Plan of China, urban renewal has been elevated to the level of national strategy. The research on urban renewal has become a current hot topic. However, as an important role in the urban renewal, enterprises are usually ignored by researchers. Therefore, this study aims to help enterprises address the investment risks in urban renewal projects of the old residential demolition and redevelopment category. Firstly, the relevant literature is collected and anlysed to identify 17 investment risk factors that affect enterprises’ participation in urban renewal projects of the old residential demolition and redevelopment category. Then, the interaction between the investment risk factors is analysed by using the interpretative structural model (ISM). Furthermore, the distribution of drivers and dependencies of the investment risk factors is discovered by using the matrices impacts croises-multiplication appliance classement (MICMAC). The results show that poor management and insufficient feasibility study are the fundamental factors affecting project investment risk. The direct factors that affect the project investment risk are that the project income cannot reach the expectation and the fund operation ability is deficient. This study can provide a more scientific and effective basis for enterprises to implement investment risk control in urban renewal projects.

In the stage of rapid urban renewal, the renovation of old residential areas is moving along very slowly. Traditional methods of old residential areas assessment have the pain points of low efficiency and high consumption of manpower and material resources, while the application of object detection technology in the field of intelligent assessment is more and more extensive, and satisfactory results have been achieved. This paper attempts to explore how to use object detection technology to automatically identify and locate key objects in old communities, such as buildings, parking spaces, and trash bins, so as to realize smart assessment and management of the environment in old residential areas. Through the analysis of experimental results, the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method are verified.

With the steady progress of urbanization in China, the number of shrinking cities has been increasing due to the impact of decreasing urban population and economic fluctuations, which a huge impact on urban development and the real estate market has been caused. In this paper, seven shrinking cities in Liaoning Province are selected as the research objects, the comprehensive index method is used to measure the urban contraction and real estate market development index, and then a coupled coordination degree model is established to carry out a study on the coupling coordination degree of urban shrinkage and real estate market from 2016 to 2021. The result shows that the contraction index of Benxi, Anshan, Fushun, Dandong, Fuxin, Chaoyang, and Tieling, are generally on the rise, while the real estate market development index is on the decline, except for Fushun and Dandong, and overall the degree of urban contraction is ahead of the degree of real estate market development. The results of coupling coordination measurement range from 0.3 to 0.5. The coupling characteristics are medium and low coupling, showing four types of coupling coordination development: primary coordination, barely coordinated, on the verge of coordination, and moderate dissonance.

Recently, China’s real estate industry, as a pillar industry of the national economy, has been mentioned by the central government. This depends on the continuous willingness of urban residents and migrant workers to buy houses and the central government’s policy on real estate development. The real estate industry involves the development of many industries such as building materials industry, construction industry, and financial industry, therefore, promoting the high-quality development of real estate industry will have important systemic impact on China’s economic and financial stability. This paper analyzes the difficulties and problems faced by the real estate industry, and puts forward improvement measures and suggestions to promote the high-quality development of China’s real estate industry. The difficulties and problems include: (1) insufficient disposable funds for real estate projects, (2) real estate sales profit declined, (3) the government’s macro-control policy having led to the frequent bankruptcy of some real estate enterprises, (4) the enrollment of civil engineering majors in colleges and universities nationwide ranking the last, and the employment rate of graduates being only 60%, (5) the real estate tax increasing the collapse of the real estate industry, and (6) green buildings two-star and three-star buildings are rare. The improvement measures and suggestions include (1) formulating policies to limit real estate speculation and exploring new development models of real estate industry, (2) improving the financial system to ensure the reasonable profits of real estate enterprises, (3) adjusting the real estate land policy, and strengthening the supervision function of the government on the real estate market, (4) reducing or cancelling the enrollment of civil engineering majors and developing into intelligent construction majors, (5) suspending the imposition of real estate tax, and (6) increasing the proportion of high-star green buildings.

Programme management performance in construction enterprise covers the behavior process and final result, and can directly reflect the level of enterprises’ programme management. Based on the balanced scorecard (BSC) theory, the article constructs the influencing factors system of programme management performance in construction enterprises from five improved dimensions: finance, stakeholders, internal control, learning and growth, social responsibility. At the same time, all factors are systematically and hierarchically analyzed. The fuzzy decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method is used to study the correlation strength between influencing factors and identify the key factors. And the hierarchical relationship between influencing factors is further analyzed based on interpretative structural modeling (ISM) method. The results show that the competency of programme management team is the main factor, inter-project resource synergy is the deeper factor, programme organizational strategy and structure are the essential causes. Finally, the above conclusions provide corresponding suggestions for the case company to improve programme management capability.

China formally proposed double carbon target that we strive to achieve carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Therefore, higher requirements are put forward for enterprises. People are more concerned about the quality of corporate social responsibility (CSR). CSR reports are the medium of communication with the outside world. The number of Chinese companies that publish CSR reports is large, but many of these reports are of poor quality. This study examines the influence of the quality of CSR information disclosure on investment efficiency in the Chinese construction enterprises by the regression analysis of panel data. The results demonstrate that the quality of CSR information disclosure has a positive influence on investment efficiency of the Chinese construction enterprises. This study further verified that the better the quality of CSR information disclosure of construction companies, the more impactive they can be in reducing over-investment. Therefore, construction companies should proactively enhance the quality of CSR information disclosure.

This paper calculates the economic ties of cities in Shenyang Metropolitan Area using the gravity model, and uses the fracture point model to define the radiation intensity of Shenyang to other cities in the Metropolitan Area. The results show that: (1) From the perspective of the comprehensive strength of each city, Shenyang ranks first. However, the strength gap between other cities and Shenyang is large, exposing the unbalanced development of the metropolitan area. (2) From the perspective of the classification of economic connection among cities, Shenyang Metropolitan Area can be divided into four levels according to strong connection, relatively strong connection, relatively weak connection, and weak connection. Although Shenyang has strong or relatively strong links with other cities, most of the cities in the metropolitan area are weaker. (3) Seen from the location of the fracture points between Shenyang and other cities, they are located at about two-thirds of the distance between the two cities, and both are beyond the administrative area of Shenyang, which shows that it has a strong radiation and driving ability to the surrounding cities. At the same time, the comparative analysis with the provincial capital cities at the same level shows that Shenyang is in an advantageous position in the competition.

Based on the characteristics and current situation of urban renewal development in Guangzhou, this paper proposes an urban renewal performance evaluation system. Input indicators are fixed asset investment and financial expenditure, while output indicators are economic development, residents’ quality of life, social construction, and ecological environment. The combined PCA-DEA evaluation method is applied to comprehensively evaluate the performance of urban renewal work in Guangzhou from 2006 to 2020. The results show that for the 8 years between 2006 and 2020, comprehensive efficiency, pure technical efficiency, and scale efficiency achieved DEA validity, with constant scale payoffs. However, the other years did not achieve DEA validity, and thus, the distribution of slack variables in these years is analyzed to provide targeted improvement suggestions, aiming to promote the sustainable development of urban renewal work in Guangzhou.

In order to promote rapid economic growth in the short term, local governments in China attract investment by lowering the price of industrial land and compensating by raising the supply price of residential land. Although this mismatch of land factors is beneficial for stimulating economic growth in the short term, it is not conducive to the quality of economic development in the long run and may even reduce the resilience of urban economies. This paper selects 13 year panel data from 79 cities in China to empirically test the impact of land mismatch on economic resilience. The results show that land factor mismatch has a significant negative impact on economic resilience. Based on this, this article proposes measures and suggestions to reduce administrative intervention in land supply and improve the efficiency of intensive use of industrial land.

Urban physical examination which contributes to diagnosing “urban diseases” and carrying out urban renewal initiatives has become an important method to improve the quality of human living environment. In the era of stock development, old neighborhoods as the basic living units of cities are important objects of urban physical examination. How to achieve coordinated development between macro-urban physical examination and micro-old neighborhoods’ renewal needs to be systematically explored. A third-level physical examination indicators system was constructed after analyzing relationships between urban physical examination and old neighborhoods’ renewal and referring to the norms and practical experience. The technical framework and mode of neighborhood-level physical examination were also proposed. The specific renewal contents and strategies were determined after evaluating the state of an old neighborhood in Dalian which successfully verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the study. The research provides useful references to conduct urban physical examination and guide old neighborhoods’ renewal finely.

Collective construction land rental housing is in the pilot stage, and a complete “access-operation-withdrawal” closed loop has not yet been established. Constructs an evolutionary game model under the assumption of limited rationality of game subjects and conducts an evolutionary game study on the withdrawal of collective economic organization, cooperative enterprise, and lessee, respectively. The result shows that under the existing institutional framework when the amount of government compensation is greater than the proceeds gained by the collective economic organizations by concealing their withdrawal, the collective economic organization takes the initiative to withdraw, and vice versa. When a cooperative enterprise withdraws, the cooperative enterprise tends to conceal its withdrawal regardless of whether the collective economic organization scrutinizes it strictly or not; when the revenue brought by introducing an incentive mechanism is greater than the revenue gained by the lessee’s concealment, the lessee takes the initiative to withdraw, and vice versa.

Based on the data of China’s A-share listed real estate enterprise from 2011 to 2020, using empirical analysis method, this paper studies the effect of digital finance on the financial risk of real estate enterprise, and evaluates the impact of digital finance on the financial risk. The findings are as follows: (1) Digital finance has a significant negative impact on enterprise financial risk. (2) By reducing the financing cost, digital finance relieves the financing constraint of enterprises and reduces the financial risk of enterprises. Based on the analysis of heterogeneity, the inhibition of digital finance on enterprise financial risk is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises. Based on this, this paper believes that it is of great significance to promote digital finance in real estate enterprises.

Social responsibility and media attention play important roles in the sustainable development of real estate enterprises. Based on stakeholder theory and information asymmetry theory, this paper analyzes the relationship between social responsibility and financial risk of real estate enterprises and the effect of media attention, and selects the data of A-share real estate listed companies in China from 2011 to 2021 for empirical testing. It is found that the active fulfillment of social responsibility by real estate enterprises can help reduce financial risk, and media attention can further strengthen the weakening effect of social responsibility on financial risk. This paper provides empirical support for a comprehensive understanding of the impact mechanism of social responsibility on the financial risk of real estate enterprises, and enriches the strategic choices of enterprise financial risk management.

This paper analyses the lack of systematic research on “big data policy, public security governance in the era of big data, open data, data opening and its policies” in China’s urban governance system based on the formulation of data security policies in the process of data opening by local governments in China, and the current situation of relevant research on big data and its policies in China. The study will also examine the lack of systematic research on “big data policies, public safety governance in the era of big data, open data, and data opening and its policies” in China’s urban governance system. On this basis, starting from the deterministic data security policy environment, the game model of open data subjects is constructed to analyze the behavioral choice strategies of open data subjects in the deterministic data security policy environment, providing a scientific basis for the regulation of open data policy in the deterministic data security policy environment in the urban governance system, and also providing a decision path for information security, national open data, and data security policy in the era of big data.

This study investigates the increasing risks faced by engineering procurement construction (EPC) projects due to their expanding scale and growing technical complexity. With a focus on the general contractor’s viewpoint, a comprehensive literature review is conducted to enhance risk management in EPC contracts. Utilizing the risk chain theory as a foundation, the Delphi method is employed to identify potential risks. Building upon this analysis, a risk chain model specifically tailored for housing EPC projects is developed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Through this approach, 10 critical risk chains for general contractors are identified and summarized, offering practical guidance for effectively mitigating risks.

The collective memory carried by rural memory sites is an important part of human agricultural civilization. The proposal of rural revitalization strategy has stimulated the new vitality of traditional villages, and homestays with national cultural characteristics are especially popular among the audience. From the perspective of memory place theory and contemporary home stay interior design, this paper summarizes and studies the rural home stay design. Through semiotics theory and method to extract the Luoyang traditional decorative symbols to establish a distinct cultural symbol system. Through the integration and innovation of local decorative patterns, combining with modern technology, this paper strengthens the people-oriented design concept of homestay in all aspects, and at the same time, it radiates cultural vitality, so that the space can fully display the charm of architectural decoration in the Central Plains, thus inheriting Central Plains culture. The above results show that this method can improve the living conditions and service quality, create a rural homestay environment with cultural characteristics, make “homesickness” continue, and provide a new idea for the development of homestay.

In the post-epidemic era, the notion of “healthy city” has received widespread attention. Due to the continuously increasing population mobility and complicated environmental system, some urban areas have become the potential health risk space. In existing studies, the identification of health risk space mainly concentrates on socio-demographic factors, while the corresponding space strategies are less touched. This study put forward 12 spatial indicators such as road environment, development density, building form, and ventilation potential to construct an indicator system. This study used random forest algorithm for in-depth learning of existing epidemic risk data, then optimized the spatial morphology based on the model results on the parametric platform, and proposed improvement strategies. The study found that the training model based on the spatial morphology indicators had a better identification accuracy (80.5%) than socio-demographic indicators. Results indicated that building patterns with large building intervals and excellent ventilation, multi-scale and scattered green open spaces, and small-scale and multi-functional communities could facilitate the decline of the health risk level.

Prefabricated bridge deck panel installation is the main construction process for the upper structure of bridge engineering and also a major source of danger. A scientific and accurate analysis of the safety risks in the construction of prefabricated bridge deck panel installation is of great significance to reducing construction safety accidents. Firstly, a construction safety risk index system was constructed from the dimension of risk sources, and then the structural entropy weight method was used to rank the importance. Finally, the Longlingshan Overpass Project in Wuhan City, China, was selected as a case study. The case study showed that the machinery is the most important primary index, and the maintenance and quality of the hoisting steel wire rope were the most important secondary index. Targeted countermeasures and suggestions were also proposed in this article.

To explore the construction risk of subway stations under rainstorm disasters. This paper aims to develop a risk causation analysis and risk probability model that integrates fault tree analysis (FTA) and Bayesian network (BN) to overcome the shortcomings of conventional fault tree approaches. Firstly, an accident tree model was created by compiling 49 secondary disaster-derived events of rainy disasters into 4 categories: human, machine, management, and environment (HMME). Secondly, BN is used for forward reasoning, diagnosis, and excavation of subway station construction risk factors under rainstorm disasters. On this basis, BN is used for reverse reasoning and evaluation of system risks to find out the most sensitive factors in all aspects. Finally, based on the quantitative results, pertinent policies are proposed. Pertinent policies and methods for reduction and prevention are suggested based on the quantifiable results. This method identifies the risk-causing factors that result in construction risks in subway stations and serves as a guide for assessing risks in projects involving subway station construction.

The safety risk of a construction tower crane in high winds is a complicated linked problem with several facets. To investigate the risk elements of a construction tower crane in harsh weather, this study first examines the risk components from four perspectives: human, equipment, environment, and management. The N-K model is then used to calculate the coupling value between various risk variables. Secondly, the likelihood of risk occurrence under single-factor, two-factor, and multi-factor coupling modes is used to derive the risk coupling value under various coupling situations. Finally, a case study is performed to confirm the viability of the suggested approach. Based on the findings, approaches for decreasing and mitigating associated hazards are suggested. This study will help to lessen the coupling impact of tower crane safety risk variables and prevent the multi-factor coupling issues that led to this disaster.

Hardhat is of vital importance to construction workers to prevent brain injuries. The hardhat wearing detection based on the deep learning network is efficient, but it is hard to be deployed and uneconomic. Aiming at the real-time monitoring and high practicability of construction workers’ hardhat detection, this paper proposes a lightweight detection algorithm of hardhat. First, based on YOLOv4 to form a new network structure. Second, the structure with a large calculation volume is replaced by the lightweight module BIFPNs3. Finally, use the Hard-Swish activation function suitable for embedded devices. The experimental results show that the average detection accuracy of YOLO-Ghost-BiFPNs3 network model is 91.1%. Compared with the lightweight network YOLOv4 Tiny, the detection speed increased by 52.17%. Our algorithm has greatly reduced the network parameters and computational complexity compared with YOLOv4, and is better deployed in embedded devices with limited memory and computational resources.

The conventional mode of construction quality management suffers from issues such as inefficiency and inadequate accountability, which has impeded the wider application of prefabricated building. However, the core advantages of blockchain technology can address the pain points and difficulties in quality management of prefabricated building, thereby comprehensively improving the level of quality management. By analyzing deeply the integration of blockchain technology with quality management in prefabricated building, a targeted optimization path was proposed based on blockchain technology, integrating blockchain with BIM, IoT, and other technologies to track component information, establish a digital certificate management platform, and achieve information management and automatic compliance inspection of construction quality.

Construction management involves three primary objectives: quality, schedule, and cost. Engineering information management is a crucial factor in controlling construction project costs. As digitalization continues to develop, traditional engineering information management methods must evolve to achieve better cost control. While many researchers have proposed various methods to enhance the efficiency of information management, they often fail to consider the integration and collaboration of information throughout the building life cycle, as well as the role of stakeholders in the information management platform. To address these issues, this paper proposes a BIM-based life-cycle management platform. This paper first examines the traditional approach to acquiring and integrating building information and then suggests using BIM-based technology to improve information management throughout the building life cycle, highlighting the benefits of this technology. Next, the paper establishes a proposal on BIM-based lifecycle information management platform, identifying and collaborating on information modules for lifecycle applications of the information management platform. The paper’s findings demonstrate that this paper offers a valuable reference for deepening the application of life cycle information management in construction projects.

With the rapid development of digital information technology, the traditional construction industry has gradually transformed and upgraded, and the connection between digitization and construction industry has become closer. As a new construction mode, smart construction deeply integrates the new generation of information technology, which has become a research hotspot and has received extensive attention. As one of the most basic and important digital technologies, BIM plays an important role in the full life-cycle of construction and provides strong digital support for smart construction. This paper introduces the meaning and current situation of smart construction, discusses the application of digital technology in the field of smart construction, and puts forward suggestions for the future development of the construction industry.

The integrated project management team (IPMT) is a new approach to construction project management that addresses issues of delay, cost overrun, and poor quality resulting from self-interest, conflicting goals, and poor coordination. This paper discusses the concept and key features of IPMT, its organizational structure, and how it can improve quality, cost, and schedule control. The paper proposes a collaborative management framework for IPMT using BIM, which can optimize the project management process in decision-making, design, construction, and operation stages. A case study of the X elementary school demolition project is used to demonstrate the benefits of IPMT, providing a theoretical basis for further research in this area.

With the rapid economic development of China, there has been an increase in the number of development projects involving urban underground spaces. As a result, deep foundation pit projects have become an inevitable construction activity. Compared to other construction projects, deep foundation pit projects exhibit considerable uncertainty, which can arise during their design, construction, and management stages. Progress is one of the three major indicators of project management. However, due to the significant changes in construction conditions over time and space during the excavation process, accurately forecasting the progress of deep foundation pit projects is extremely challenging. Relying solely on the planned progress before construction is insufficient to provide an accurate prediction of their progress. Therefore, this paper combines computer vision technology, discrete event simulation, and Bayesian update theory to achieve intelligent and dynamic prediction of deep foundation pit construction progress. In this study, we first employ computer vision algorithms to identify the status and quantity of dump trucks at the construction site by analyzing construction videos, allowing us to estimate the excavation efficiency of the earthwork. Next, we decompose the deep foundation pit construction process and establish a discrete event simulation model. By coupling Bayesian update theory with the discrete event simulation model, we input the data collected through intelligent means based on computer vision into the established model. Subsequently, we run the model to realize dynamic prediction of deep foundation pit construction progress. Finally, we apply the proposed method to a practical engineering case to validate its effectiveness, which significantly enhances the intelligence and accuracy of deep foundation pit construction progress prediction.

In recent years, prefabricated buildings in China have shown good development trend. However, the advantages of prefabricated buildings in China are not yet significant, and there is an increased risk of rework compared to cast-in-place buildings. To propose effective measures to deal with the risk of rework, this study conducts a risk assessment of the prefabricated building construction process from three aspects: rework frequency, cost, and construction period. Firstly, the construction process with rework risks was determined through literature review, and the weight of rework frequency, cost, and construction period in each construction process was determined using the best worst method (BWM). Then, the grey relational analysis (GRA) method was used to construct the correlation coefficient matrix. Finally, the risk level was determined by weighted grey correlation degree, and targeted recommendations were proposed accordingly. The research conclusions provide a reference for controlling the risk of rework in the construction of prefabricated buildings in China.

In recent decades, China's electric power industry has experienced an unprecedented development in terms of production scale and quality. As an important and basic industry, a large number of studies have been conducted to evaluate the overall performance of the electric power system, electric power grid system, electric power market, etc. Via performance evaluation, practitioners can effectively identify the development problems of the electric power industry and address these problems. However, the majority of previous studies focus on economic evaluation with very limited considerations given to other performance indicators such as carbon emissions reduction and social benefits. Based on literature analysis and the entropy weight method, this paper constructs an indicator system for evaluating the performance of China's electric power industry from a multi-dimension perspective. Indicators including development scale, economic benefits, social benefits, environmental protection, low-carbon development, and scientific and technological innovation were used in the performance evaluation model. Using the statistical data from 2014 to 2020, empirical analysis was conducted to measure the current performance of China's electric power industry.

With the rapid development of China’s construction industry, more and more projects are appearing in the form of project groups. How to effectively implement comprehensive control of project groups to maximize the interests of enterprises has become one of the keys for construction general contracting enterprises to stand out in the industry. Therefore, this paper proposes to build a project group control platform that matches the development needs of general contracting enterprises, identifies the components of the project group control platform based on the Grounded theory, and analyzes the operation mechanism of the project group control platform of general contracting enterprises in combination with TOE theory. Research has shown that project group control platforms contribute to the steady operation of the platform through a combination of technological empowerment, organizational effectiveness, and environmental enrichment.

Under the trend of construction projects becoming increasingly gigantic and clustered, program management has become a hot issue in the field of construction engineering. In order to improve the program management capability and realize the strategic objective of construction enterprises, it is necessary to study the key indicators affecting program management maturity. Firstly, the evaluation index system is established from the perspective of WSR. Secondly, data are collected through questionnaires. On this basis, the structural equation model is used to calculate the weight of each index, so as to find the key factors affecting the maturity of program management of construction enterprises. Finally, the key factors are analyzed in depth. The results show that the physical, logical, and human factors can significantly affect program management maturity of construction enterprises, and human factors are the most influential. The fundamental measures to improve the program management level are to improve organizational mechanism, optimize resource allocation, improve the competency of the program managers, and strengthen information construction.

The real-name system management of construction site of construction projects is the main means to solve a series of problems such as the large turnover of construction site personnel, resulting in management difficulties and low efficiency, and then causing labor disputes, production safety, wage arrears, etc. Since the real-name system management has been running for several years, it is difficult to evaluate the implementation effect due to the lack of performance evaluation of real-name system management. Based on this, on the basis of literature research and actual research, and through expert discussion, this paper extracts 6 criterion-level indicators including standard, structure, technology, attendance, platform docking, and guarantee of real-name system and 31 indicators, and evaluates the implementation and promotion of real-name system management. The reliability of the index system is verified by an empirical study on the real name system management of a construction enterprise in Changchun City. This index system is helpful to promote the improvement of real-name system management and provide reference for the evaluation of real-name system management in construction projects of construction enterprises.

With the increasing expansion of China’s urban population and spatial planning, urban rail transit has gradually become a green public transportation mode given priority by people, and PPP mode has been widely used in urban rail transit construction projects. However, due to the characteristics of urban rail transit PPP project itself, such as high integration, large system, involving multi-parties, and so on, the successful construction of the project still has high cost, complex transaction structure, greater risks, and other problems. Therefore, this paper first starts from the key influencing factors, on the basis of literature review, combined with expert interviews, through the questionnaire and factor analysis method to determine the key influencing factors and classification. Secondly, structural equation model was used to explore the deep internal relationship and causative path of key influencing factors. The results show that personnel factors, transaction structure factors, environmental factors, policy factors, and project characteristics all have a significant impact on the success of urban rail transit PPP projects.

The economic decision has a decisive impact on the project investment and the economic benefits after the completion of the project. Calculating economic indexes through cash flow analysis is an important part of project investment control in the decision-making stage. The traditional preliminary estimation methods are based on manual integration of time and cost information, using other software to extract relevant data to calculate indicators, which has the disadvantages of inaccurate calculation and cumbersome operation. This paper proposes a method framework based on BIM to estimate the project’s whole life cycle cash flow and realize the automatic calculation of the economic indexes, to support the accuracy and efficiency of economic and technical decision-making in the early design phase.

A reasonable measurement of safety-civilized measure cost rate is an important factor in ensuring a safety level of production in subway projects. In order to accurately measure the safety-civilized measure cost rate for subway projects, this study firstly classifies the safety-civilized measure cost into fixed cost and variable cost which are predicted based on the investigating features of safety-civilized measure cost. Secondly, a new algorithm combining genetic algorithm (GA) with back propagation neural network (BPNN) was applied to predict the settlement cost of subway projects and extract the rate base. Then, safety-civilized measure cost rate can be obtained. Finally, a subway project in Wuhan City is selected as the case study for empirical analysis. The results indicate that the proposed model for the measurement of safety-civilized measure cost rate standard calculated has high accuracy and well adaptability, and can reflect actual demands for safety-civilized measure cost of subway projects.

In the construction of engineering projects, it is of great significance to know the factors affecting the total construction contract fee and realize the prediction of the total construction contract fee for the operation and management of the owner and the construction side. Through the analysis of literature and relevant books, 18 factors affecting the total construction contract cost are sorted out. Based on real data collection, first by factor analysis to extract the common factors that affects the cost of construction general contracting, according to the principal component factor loading, determine the key factors influencing the construction of the total contract fee, and then adopt the method of multiple regression analysis of common factor, and establish the mathematical model for quantitative prediction, finally through the test validation. It is concluded that the prediction model is accurate and has great reference value for the prediction of total construction contract cost.

Under the background of the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, the construction industry relies on the third-party procurement platform to create a new construction materials procurement mode that is informatized, convenient, efficient, and safe, so as to better achieve the goals of cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and quality assurance. Based on the third-party procurement platform, this paper studies the three-level construction supply chain benefit distribution model composed of suppliers, contractors, and procurement platforms, introduces three factors of resource input, risk taking, and information value into the traditional Shapley value, uses the improved CRITIC method to determine the weight of the influencing factors of the construction supply chain revenue distribution, and tests the feasibility of the model through example analysis. The results show that the model can maximize the benefits of construction supply chain participants based on the third-party procurement platform, which is conducive to improving the enthusiasm of all participants.

With the increasing attention of regulatory authorities to the disclosure of off-balance sheet information, financial reports have been revealing more information. The length of financial report notes has surpassed that of the report itself. Thus, efficiently processing this information has become a new challenge for both regulators and financial report users. This paper proposes an OpenCV-based text box extraction method from the perspective of computer vision. By using morphological image dilation operation, the title and the main text can be distinguished. Based on this, an optimized box extraction method is developed by combining this method with traditional methods. Experimental results show that the proposed method reduces traditional financial report text box extraction methods by 93.60% in terms of redundancy on a certain amount of samples, making extracted text boxes more concise and refined.

With the continuous development of the world economy, many advanced technologies are attempted to be used in the construction practice. It requires high level of management method during the construction process. However, there is still a phenomenon that some construction plans, such as construction duration is predicted according to personal experience. Accurate and scientific prediction methods are lack. As one of the important factors for the construction project, the construction duration is of great significance to the cost control of the whole project. It directly affects the recovery of the contractors’ economic profit. In order to accurately predict the construction duration, this paper discusses the main factors affecting the construction duration A machine learning model is built for the construction duration prediction and the affecting factors are inputted as parameters to the model. The data from about 30 construction projects are used for the model training. The importance of the affecting factors is found. The machine learning based method for construction duration forecasting offer a dependent reference for the construction managers when making construction plan.

The stressed reinforcement in prefabricated concrete structures is generally connected by grouted sleeve, thus the quality of grouting in the sleeve will directly affect the seismic and mechanical performance of buildings. Since the grouted sleeve is located inside the component, and the defects can only be detected with nondestructive testing techniques. Although the prefabricated concrete structure is being popularized and applied, there is still a lack of effective nondestructive testing technology. It is particularly urgent to develop effective nondestructive testing methods to detect the grouting defects in steel sleeve. In this paper, the feasibility of impact echo method in detecting the defects of grouted sleeve is studied. High order finite element numerical simulations are carried out and waveform signals are analysed with maximum entropy method (MEM) method. Three types of grouting defect models are studied to compare with the one without defects. And the results demonstrated the feasibility and limitation of the impact echo method.

Prefabricated construction (PC) is an increasingly popular construction approach that offers numerous benefits, including greater efficiency, improved safety, and reduced material waste. However, this approach also introduces a new set of quality risks due to the complex process of off-site prefabrication, transportation, and on-site assembly. Currently, quality management (QM) in PC is mainly conducted through manual efforts that rely on human experience and established standards. This approach can be both inefficient and susceptible to human bias, which can lead to quality issues. To address these concerns, this study proposes a knowledge engineering-based framework that utilizes knowledge modeling and reasoning to enable intelligent QM. The framework consists of four layers: data acquisition, knowledge generation, knowledge storage, and value-added application. The proposed framework was applied to a case scenario, and the results showed that the open information stored in the knowledge base can guide the quality control process, and vice versa, enabling the quality control process to promote the updating of the knowledge base.

With the continuous scale of prefabricated buildings, which requires multiple tower cranes to complete the lifting task. The selection of tower cranes is restricted by many factors. This paper first through literature and actual research, to establish the assembly type tower crane selection program process, analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of different types of tower cranes and the scope of application, combined with the actual situation of the project to determine the type of tower crane; then analyze the influence factors of tower crane selection for preliminary selection plan determination, and finally establish a value engineering model to compare the value coefficient to determine the final selection plan. The validity of the method is verified through actual cases, which not only takes into account the construction characteristics of assembled buildings, but also makes cost optimization on the basis of ensuring functionality, and provides a scientific decision basis for tower crane selection.

The high cost of prefabricated construction is one of the key factors that hinder its development, and the main reason that leads to the high cost lies in the high production cost of prefabricated components. How to rationally arrange various working areas of precast components production workshop is one of the key problems to be solved to improve the production efficiency. This study combined with the layout characteristics of the prefabricated component workshop to build a three-dimensional visualization virtual environment. The mathematical model of production facility layout in precast component workshop was established and solved by modified genetic algorithm. Through the analysis of production line layout and production conditions based on digital twin management and simulation platform, a more reasonable production line layout scheme was obtained. The application results show that the reasonable workshop layout scheme can improve the production efficiency and reduce the production cost by adjusting the operation load of each process or station.

Tunnels are important to today’s dense urban environments. Risk planning of such a tunnel construction includes the unique characteristics and environments, due to the high population, existing buildings, infrastructure, and transportation. However, the safety cognitive heterogeneity of tunnel construction in dense urban areas is not formalized even proper risk planning and management can help mitigate some of these challenges and ensure a successful project. Therefore, this paper examined the current practice, i.e., the safety cognitive heterogeneity involved in the decision-making process of tunnel constructions in dense urban areas from organizational, managerial, and technical. The main survey (96 responses from contractors) depicts that safety cognitive heterogeneity is available within 33 organizing criteria, 14 management criteria, and 55 technical criteria out of a total of 186 criteria. To better support the decision-making process, the authors will conduct in-depth expert interviews and investigate the heterogeneous preference to formalize the decision-making modeling.

BIM technology has been valued by the construction industry and its academic community. Its innovative concepts and application value have promoted the mode innovation and sustainable development of the construction industry. This study aims to reveal the current status and trends of BIM research since 1998 through bibliometric analysis, and then to put forward relevant suggestions. The literature data is selected from the Web of Science (WOS) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases, and the related results are presented through bibliometric analysis, co-word analysis, theme evolution analysis, and visualization algorithms. By comparing domestic and international BIM related literature, this study draws the hot word clusters and evolution trend maps, discusses the research directions and evolutionary trends, and summarizes the recent research hotspots. These study results provide reference directions and guidance for theoretical research and practical application of future Chinese BIM.

As the application of BIM technology in projects becomes widespread, the required BIM engineering capability of related technical engineers is also increasing gradually; therefore, establishing a BIM engineering competency enhancement system becomes necessary to provide an industry standard for talent cultivation in associated fields. Based on the literature analysis, this paper determines the connotation of engineering capability, identifies the critical elements of BIM engineering capability enhancement, and establishes the element system of BIM engineering capability enhancement.
