Socioeconomic Status, Social Security Participation, and Migrant Workers’ Willingness to Become Citizens

ABSTRACT

The article uses CSS 2011 survey data, using Logit model to investigate the social and economic status of migrant workers, social security participation on perceived their citizenization intention influence. Research shows that: in general, the social economic status of migrant workers have a significant positive effect on the perception of citizenization intention in secondary and above, but this effect only exists in the eastern and central city, have no significant influence in the western city. In the eastern and central city, social security participation of migrant workers’ citizenization has a significant role in promoting, which has a negative effect on the western region. Social security participation between socioeconomic status and citizenization of migrant workers will rise to adjust effect, if the group in eastern and central city high participation of social security, social and economic status awareness for the middle and lower of the citizenization of migrant workers will have negative effect.
