An Empirical Study on the Factors Influencing the Satisfaction of Residents of Indemnificatory Housing Based on Community Governance: A Case Study of Guangzhou City

ABSTRACT

Indemnificatory housing is an important initiative to protect people’s livelihood in China, and it is valuable to study the factors that affect the satisfaction of community governance of indemnificatory housing residents. This paper integrates literature review and reliability validity testing to devise a questionnaire system that contains four dimensions: infrastructure, public environment, activity development, and pluralistic co-governance. By fitting linear regression and stepwise regression, it was found that: the development of community activities and pluralistic co-governance had a greater impact on residents’ satisfaction; to be specific, neighborhood relations, support for special groups, the development of cultural activities, neighborhood committee participation in community governance, and community spatial planning had a greater impact on residents’ satisfaction. Combining the findings of the influencing factors and field research experience, this study proposed recommendations for the governance of indemnificatory housing communities to improve residents’ satisfaction.
