Sustainable Development of Critical Infrastructure

Abstract

  • Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Development of Critical Infrastructure, held in Shanghai, China, May 16-18, 2014.Sponsored by the International Cooperation & Exchange Committee of the China Civil Engineering Society (CCES) and the Council on Disaster Risk Management of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Sustainable Development of Critical Infrastructure, CDRM 8, contains 4 keynote papers and 51 peer-reviewed technical papers intended to promote and review the technologies necessary to support the development of sustainable infrastructure systems worldwide. Specific applications of sustainable engineering practices to high-rise buildings, long-span bridges, urban transportation systems; and nuclear and electrical power facilities are discussed.

Topics include: impacts and adaptation to climate change; reliability and risk management; life-cycle performance and cost; and the development of more sustainable construction materials.

This proceedings will be of interest to practitioners, researchers, government engineers, and operational managers of infrastructure systems.
