ICCREM 2019: Innovative Construction Project Management and Construction Industrialization

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for a large percentage of market structure in the construction industry; however, adoption and diffusion of innovation associated with information technology (IT) in these types of enterprises are slow compared with large-sized enterprises. During the project lifecycle, contract management, as the core business of enterprises, is complex and has a profound influence on project schedule, cost, and risk control. However, few studies have focused on IT innovation and application in contract management related to data management, information integration, and communication from the enterprise management perspective. Therefore, a framework for a contract management system in cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) is proposed for SMEs in the construction industry which integrates the database management system (DBMS), cloud-based ERP, and feature-based modeling. An illustrated example of a medium-sized real estate enterprise is provided to demonstrate applicability of the framework to facilitate contract management in the construction industry.

The production and transportation capabilities of a precast concrete (PC) component supplier have great impact on the construction of a PC building project. In China, the production and transportation capabilities of different PC suppliers can vary greatly, which will influence contractors’ selection of PC supply chain strategies. However, previous studies often considered the capabilities of PC suppliers to be ideal and failed to compare different PC supply chain strategies under different levels of suppliers capabilities. This study collects detailed data from a PC building project and uses discrete event simulation (DES) to compare different supply chain strategies under different production and transportation capability levels of PC suppliers. Construction duration, construction cost, and greenhouse gas emissions are selected as indicators to compare three different supply chain strategies: just-in-time, on-site storage, and off-site storage. The strengths and weaknesses of each strategy under different capabilities of PC suppliers are found. The results provides guidance for contractors in selecting supply chain strategies when considering PC suppliers’ production and transportation capabilities.

Building performance models (BPMs) are often used to estimate, analyze, and understand the performance of future or non-existing buildings during designs. However, performance gaps between prediction from BPMs and actual building still exist. Obviously, occupant behaviors are one of the major factors which cause the performance gaps because of several reasons, including (1) they are dynamic, (2) they are driven by many contextual factors, and (3) they are difficult to be captured by traditional experiments. This paper discusses a framework of applying generative adversarial networks (GANs) as an alternative approach to combine existing BPMs with occupant responses to design specific and context sensitive factors obtained from immersive virtual environment (IVE) toward designed buildings (target buildings) in order to reduce performance gaps between prediction during designs and actual buildings.

The inappropriate behaviors of construction workers affect the construction process of building, such as unsafe behaviors, awkward work postures, inefficient and ineffective labor behaviors. Fully understanding the behaviors of construction workers can help identify the behaviors of construction workers to prevent unsafe behaviors, awkward work postures, and reduce the lazy behaviors of workers on the construction site. This paper develops 2D image human skeleton parameterized method to understand the behaviors of construction workers, and tries to establish a behavior detection database based on image-skeleton parameters to identify the behaviors of construction workers. This method has the advantage of low application cost and the potential to continue development to improve construction management using a large amount of experimental data to identify workers’ behaviors. This paper contributes to practice and knowledge of construction management by providing a novel method to identify construction workers’ behaviors.

This paper describes the early stages of a research project aiming to develop a BIM framework for practical assessment. Globally prestigious models adopted to evaluate the development of an organization including Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA), European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and Australian Business Excellence Framework (ABEF) were analyzed to determine the key categories for BIM adoption assessment. Also, 22 interviews with 26 key stakeholders were conducted to identify the elements (belonged to the categories above) potentially impacting on BIM adoption. The results indicate that leadership, client and other stakeholders, strategic planning, people, resources, process, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, and results are the main categories of the BIM assessment framework along with 39 elements. The interrelationship among categories and elements are expected to be identified in the further research with a quantitative approach. The results of this research project could be considered baseline information for the construction companies to effectively evaluate their BIM adoption and to obtain the insights of the relationships among criteria of BIM adoption.

Industrialized house-building companies predefine parameters in platforms. In the strive to identify efficient information flow with automation and configuration, the design process requires a breakdown of the product structure of a building to digitally communicate between information systems. The level of predefinitions varies between industrialized house-builders according to market position, type of building processes, and maturity in business. The client decoupling point according to the predefinitions of house-building as a product is central for how and when production information is created. Bill of materials is a breakdown structure that visualize relations and the transformation between engineering, preparation, and production processes from a life cycle perspective. A case study at eight house-building companies was chosen with the aim to identify relations between the level of predefinitions and breakdown structures. House-building platforms with a high level of predefinition on layouts, components, and interfaces show a tendency to use less time in BIM-tools for engineering work and a high level of parameters in manufacturing configuration systems to prepare for production. Meanwhile, the opposite with low levels of predefinitions on components and interfaces focus on BIM-tools for engineering work with longer lead times. An interesting outcome is those with a high level of predefinitions in interfaces but lower levels on component dimensions. These companies have the ability to position their offer to a wide market with flexibility in the engineering work and need to communicate the high levels of interface parameters for the manufacturing sequence with a breakdown of the product together with architects.

Prevention through design (PtD) is one of the most effective and proactive approaches that minimize unsafe behavior in construction. However, most existing studies focus on the provision of safety design rather than the investigation regarding the components of PtD. This research aims to explore the essential components of PtD concerning unsafe behaviors based on a system dynamics model. We developed three sub-models associating the components of engineering design, working environment, human cognition, and errors. Then, we integrated the sub-models into a system dynamics model. Subsequently, safety performance during an eight-hour workday is simulated, and we conducted a sensitivity analysis to evaluate the effect of each safety design factor on unsafe behavior. The results show that design defects induce unsafe behaviors through unsafe environment and insufficient safety cognition. This research probes into depth of PtD and pertinent suggestions on safety design to minimize the possibility of safety accidents.

Computer vision technologies (CV) have been widely used for object detecting, tracking, and recognizing in the construction industry with machine learning algorithms (ML). This paper aim to make a comprehensive and systematic review of 438 CV related papers in construction safety management (CSM), and 169 camera related computer vision technologies (CRCV) papers were extracted. Finally, 29 camera related computer vision technologies and machine learning algorithms (CRCV-ML) papers were recognized for analyzing. Data collection, chronological, project types, CRCV, and learning algorithms distributions are proposed objectively by three-stage searching process. In discussion section, main research findings together with trends and gaps were gained. These results may help researchers identify the gaps and trends of CV and ML, and can serve as a guidance for future application research.

Since its inception in 1970s, the popularity and industry-wide adoption of building information modeling (BIM) has dramatically expanded. Among those projects branded as BIM-assisted, there are different levels of BIM maturity (BIMM), which is defined as the level to which BIM is explicitly defined, managed, integrated, and optimized. There is no shortage of academic studies or professionals’ reports regarding the adoption and maturity of BIM. However, many studies account for limited measures of BIMM. In addition, their measurement metrics lack substantial theoretical justification. Moreover, most studies are not general due to the limitation of sample size or geographical location. This paper aims to fill the gap and present the findings of a global industry-wide BIMM survey of 537 practitioners’ direct working experience of BIM-assisted projects. A global survey was designed to collect BIM-related professionals’ evaluation of the maturity levels of their BIM-assisted projects. Then, demographic analysis is performed to summarize the insight and reality regarding the major business type of BIM organizations, BIM expertise of the current BIM users, and the profile of BIM-assisted projects. Last, the BIMM is quantified and compared from the dimensions of technology, information, people, and process. It is found that the global industry level of BIM is between neutral and somewhat mature. There are various levels of BIMM by different industry players.

The adoption of building information modeling (BIM) can help the construction industry to change its development mode, improve quality, and efficiency, however, the adoption rate of BIM in China’s construction industry is generally low. In order to further explore the reasons, this paper extracts 22 influencing factors of BIM adoption through literature review, establishes the hypothesis of BIM UTAUT model, and based on 453 valid questionnaires, main factors are extracted by factor analysis, and the influence degree of each factor is measured and tested by structural equation model. The results show that BIM adoption is positively correlated with facilitative conditions, actual efficiency, and social impact, negatively correlated with the cost of adoption, and not significantly correlated with the degree of technical difficulty. Finally, the corresponding suggestions are put forward to promote the adoption of BIM in China’s construction industry.

The purpose of the paper is to provide a reference for the theoretical study and practical application on the incentive mechanism which is applicable to the cost control of construction project based on IPD-ish in China. Given the limitations of the realization of IPD in China, this paper introduces IPD-ish into the construction project and constructs the responsibility matrix on cost control. Taking incentive compensation mechanism as the theoretical basis and drawing on the composition of incentive pool, this article designs a kind of incentive compensation structure to control cost of construction project based on IPD-ish. Based on the responsibility matrix on cost control, the method to realize the incentive compensation mechanism is deeply analyzed. Although the finding is main based on qualitative analysis at present, this paper provides a reference for quantitative research which is applicable to the cost control of construction project based on IPD-ish in China.

In recent years, China has been promoting the construction of green ecological city in an all-round way. In order to achieve this goal, the project which applies the BIM technology and prefabricated building has become the current hot spot and future trend of Chinese construction industry. In the meantime, engineering procurement construction (EPC) general contracting model is a management model for integrated management of project design, procurement, and construction. Its core idea is in line with the development requirements of prefabricated buildings. So first of all, this article studies the characteristics of EPC general contracting model, BIM technology, and prefabricated building. Then, this article analyzes the advantages in many aspects under the combination of the three parties. Finally, this article draws a conclusion that the concept of BIM technology collaboration and integration is highly integrated with the idea of integrated construction of prefabricated buildings. Especially under the general contract management mode of EPC engineering, the application and advantages of BIM based on prefabricated buildings become more prominent.

Smart construction would be a growing trend for the future of the construction as the using advanced techniques more and more in the progresses of construction, such as BIM, cloud computing, Internet of things, mobile Internet, big data, etc., which also would be the new mode of engineering management. However, in China, the advanced techniques could be used in some of the progresses, which could not make the data from different parts connect, and the project participants work cooperatively. This paper based on case study, discussed smart construction top-level design and its system, summarized its functions, and application processes, focusing on the cost, quality, schedule, contract, safety, etc. Finally, implementation strategies were proposed for smart construction top-level design and its system.

Recently, the research of BIM has predominated over the building industry which is based on the policies support of construction industry information. In order to promote further development of BIM, the integrated application of BIM, and information technology, such as internet, big data, and cloud computing, is going to be the main research direction. Hence, it will be further combined for integrated management, smart decision making, and the improvement of quality and efficiency, which will lead to a sustainable future of the construction industry. At present, it is necessary that we get the whole picture of the research progress about the integrated application of BIM at home and abroad, and open up the new technologies with BIM for solving the remaining existing problems. With the Web of Science (WOS) database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database taken as data sources, the literature about the integrated application about BIM published during 2008–2018 were collected and surveyed by using the combination method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis and the visualization software Citespace. Mapping knowledge domains were drawn and comparatively analyzed from three aspects: application fields, the advantage of integration, application of the target. The results show that the integrated application of BIM and information technology is still a large space for development in the building industry all over the world. It will building a scientific and high-effect management system for all kinds of construction projects. In a word, BIM is not just a tool but the application of BIM is also a systems engineering proposition that accelerates the automation and intelligence in building industry.

In the process of logistics management of prefabricated components in China, there are difficulties in acquiring and processing logistics data, supplying component on time, locating component quickly. These problems lead to high project costs and delays in construction. The low level of information technology application and poor information communication between the participants are the root causes. Based on literature study and on-site investigation, this paper firstly identifies the problems in prefabricated component logistics management, and then analyzes information and functional requirements of the logistics management system. Based on this, a prefabricated component logistics management system using BIM and RFID was established, which includes information collection module, information processing module, and information collaborative application module to realize automatic data collection and automatic tracking of component positions.

“Application of Ten New Technologies in Construction Industry” is the wind vane of the development of this industry, with good economic, social, and environmental benefits. This paper analyzes the obstacles of the major participants for new technology applications, including real estate developers, designers, and contractors. This paper also establishes a system dynamics model to simulate the effects of promotion policies on the behaviors of above-mentioned participants. Based on the current situations in Wuhan City, the effects of various promotion policy combinations are discussed and relevant policy suggestions are provided. The model established in the paper is a useful tool for analyzing new technology application in construction industry and can also be utilized in other territories.

The problem of inventory and transportation of engineering logistics in this paper solved the focal problem that how to make the inventory plan and transportation plan of engineering logistics at the operational lever in logistics management through focusing on the optimization of integrating both inventory and transportation. With mixed integer programming theory, a many-to-one model of integrating inventory and transportation of engineering logistics was built and analyzed. To solve the model, the paper constructed an improved heuristic approach whose accuracy was analyzed as well. Finally, a case study, which based on the analysis of the approach, was carried out. It shows the efficiency of the solving method and the guiding value of the method in making practical inventory and transportation plan.

With the gradual popularization of BIM technology, curriculum reform based on BIM technology has attracted more and more attention in colleges and universities. Legal system of construction contract course is a practical and applied course in the education system of construction and real estate education. There are many problems in the course teaching. In this paper, BIM is implanted into the curriculum to implement the curriculum reform based on BIM, optimize the teaching content, improve the teaching form of curriculum, and analyze the implementation effect. The implementation effect is expected to improve the quality of teaching, form an overall thinking mode of contract management, improve the ability to solve practical problems, and better promote the BIM-based teaching reform in colleges and universities.

As an important part of energy transformation and environmental protection, the research on the development of energy Internet has its theoretical foundation and realistic background: on the one hand, sharing economic theory and regional economic development theory is the theoretical basis of energy Internet research; on the other hand, the growth of energy demand is strong. However, the form of energy supply is severe and the capacity of transnational power transmission is insufficient. It is urgent to accelerate the research of energy Internet. The energy Internet is a collection of networks covering coal and clean energy systems, power systems, natural gas and oil pipeline networks, and energy transportation logistics networks. It includes systems such as the energy layer, equipment layer, information layer, and user layer. At present, there are a wide range of energy sources, a large number of grid-connected entities, diversified energy users, and a one-way body to a two-way body, which puts higher demands on energy production, transmission, deployment, and consumption. With decentralized, open and transparent, secure, and credible blockchain technology, technologies such as distributed, shared mechanisms, and smart contracts can reshape energy from production to consumption, not only effectively reducing energy costs, but also providing energy use. The rate can also effectively promote the development of smarter energy Internet.

Urban rail transit engineering is the municipal infrastructure that is most closely related to people's livelihood in the process of modern urban construction. Due to the high attention paid by the society to urban rail transit engineering, the requirements for the construction of engineering projects have been gradually raised, and the construction of urban rail engineering projects must be completed in a short time with high quality and quantity. This paper investigates the status quo and development of BIM technology in China's rail transit engineering from the perspective of research and application of technology. And the paper summarizes and puts forward the application of BIM in various aspects of urban rail transit projects, analyzes the existing problems in the application of BIM, and proposes targeted suggestions on perfecting technical standards, improving software universality, and data utilization capacity.

Taking the Zhuhai Port Project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge as an example, we analyze the application of BIM technology in large-scale and complex projects. The project adopts BIM technology to simulate the plane layout construction, carry out collision inspection of pipelines, simulate the installation of large-scale steel structure roof, and is also applied in the management of sample guide, progress, and cost. Price management has been applied, which reflects the application breadth and depth of BIM technology in large-scale and complex projects in China.

As an academic field, construction engineering and management (CEM) emerged and developed into a mutual academic field in the past several decades. CEM is characterized by the high level of mixed knowledge from other disciplines (i.e. physics and computer science) to facilitate the application of engineering skills and models to execute the effective organizations in a complex environment. Therefore, understanding the latent topics in CEM is an important task. This study explores the classic topics of CEM and maps their structure by using SNA techniques from a large amount of data, providing relatively unbiased and convinced results.

The methodology of visual simulation for tunnel engineering construction schedule is presented, visualization of simulation model, calculation, and result of construction schedule simulation is realized, the construction simulation of tunnel engineering can be done, the resource optimization of tunnel engineering construction schedule is taken. Meanwhile, risk analysis and decision-making method of tunnel engineering construction schedule based on visual simulation is presented. Furthermore, by using of S curve theory and schedule management method, tunnel engineering construction schedule S curve real time management and control method based on visual simulation is presented; the successful application to the tunnel engineering construction schedule analysis and management demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the method presented in this paper.

The construction supply chain integration (CSCI) is considered one of the major factors in improving construction supply chain performance, especially for projects involving building information modelling (BIM) and prefabrication. Although CSCI has been studied extensively, there is still no consensus on its definition, scope, and benchmark. With the rapid growth of information technology applications in the construction industry, researchers have pointed out that the application degree, effectiveness, and trends of CSCI need to be studied more systematically and in depth. This study aims to clarify the concept, scope, and goals of SCI, and to identify the common research topics. We conducted a literature review on SCI research in the construction sector and developed a conceptual framework to facilitate future research.

Construction enterprises play a key role on people’s livelihood, the national economy, and social development. But, it has negatively affected on the life of the people and natural environment such as degradation of soil, waste generation, and depletion of resource. Therefore, construction enterprises must take social responsibility. In the process of globalization, corporate social responsibility should span over the constraints of national regulatory. Proactive corporate social responsibility (PCSR) refers to a pattern of social responsible practices beyond legal demands to actively support social development. This study examines the influence of PCSR on corporate financial performance (FP) in the Chinese construction enterprises by the multi-variables regression analysis of panel data. The results demonstrate that the previous PCSR has a positive influence on FP of the Chinese construction enterprises. This study helps to enhance the knowledge about PCSR of the emerging economy and provides suggestions the PCSR of construction industry.

With the continuous introduction of documents by the State Council to implement general contraction for construction projects, more and more domestic projects use the general contracting model. One of the advantages of this approach is that it can reduce the risk of owners. However, unreasonable risk transfer will result in high risk cost and reduce project benefit, even lead to project failure. It can be seen that reasonable risk sharing is the core content of risk management in general contraction for construction projects. Based on the contract model, this article will initially share the risks of the general contraction for construction project as share the risk unilaterally and share the risk together. For sharing the risk together, this paper will aim at maximizing the risk sharing benefits of both sides of the general contraction for construction project, and build a risk sharing proportion model, in order to provide a basis for calculating the optimal risk sharing ratio of both parties.

Project controls and management system (PCMS) refers to an ecosystem of processes, tools, and personnel required for the proper planning and execution of capital projects throughout the different phases of design, procurement, construction, and startup. The implementation of PCMS has been affected by various trends such as globalization and information technology developments have impacted the way PCMS which made it the subject of extensive research over the past years to investigate how to best utilize those trends. Relying on a survey that was originally utilized for a PCMS status report by the Construction Research Institute (CII) in 2011 as well as recent discussions with members of the CII Community of Practice, this paper aims to investigate the current status of PCMS implementation and how it has changed over the past few years. Although the full results have not been retrieved, the initial trends exhibit a pessimistic view of the state of project controls. While the original PCMS principles are still valid, adoption has drastically changed in terms of efficiency for the majority of the functions.

Construction industry is prone to a number of risks due to its dynamic nature and the involvement of several stakeholders. These risks, if left untreated, negatively influence the project’s objectives including cost, time, and quality. Numerous studies have been conducted globally to find the potential risks faced by construction industry; however, they aren’t alike in all the regions. Thus, identifying and mitigating the potential risks, pertinent to a specific region, is an important milestone in the success of construction projects. This study, therefore, attempts to identify seventy-three key risk factors related to delay, cost overrun, and quality, affecting the performance of building projects in Pakistan, through an extensive literature review and semi-structured interviews. The identified factors were then prioritized, by the industry experts from both public and private sectors, using a questionnaire survey. The study discusses the influence of top five risk factors, in detail. The findings are expected to help, key stakeholders in Pakistan, in effective planning and monitoring of building projects at various stages; thus completing the projects within the allocated time, budgeted cost, and desired quality level. The study’s methodology and results can be generalized, with cautious, in other regions and cultures having similar work environment.

This paper focuses on the development of public art in the metro architectural space of metropolises in China. This paper aims to analyse the urban metro culture and metro public art influenced by different histories and cultures, by studying the public art inside metro public spaces of Chinese metropolis. The research purpose is to contribute to a better understanding of Chinese cities’ metro public art in order to create vibrant culture and creative cities. The paper is conducive to the development of various cultures, aiming to maintain the cultural diversity, and promote the prosperity and development of the culture in China. The findings can potentially assist to promote the cooperative relationship between megacities and strengthen the mutual understanding and development of their friendly relations and cooperation of industries within the state.

Previous studies on incentives concern mostly about individual rewards inside organizations. However, little research has revealed the mechanism of the effects of contractual incentives from project level. This research has identified four dimensions of the effects of contractual incentives (gain sharing, alignment of stakeholders, risk allocation, and goal achievement) and developed a model to investigate the interaction among them. The model is empirically tested with path analysis using the data collected from the owner, the contractor, and the superintendent. The results show that alignment of stakeholders and fair risk allocation have a direct and positive impact on project goal realization, while equitable gain sharing can indirectly influence the achievement of project goals through alignment and fair risk allocation. This study provides an in-depth understanding of the interaction among the effects of contractual incentives which can help to develop more effective incentive schemes for construction projects.

Besides the contractors lacking of safety management ability, another important reason lead to construction accidents lies in the owners seldom participating and supporting construction safety management. The attributes of owners and contractors and their game relations were analyzed and the problems between the owners and the contractors during construction safety management were expounded. One co-construct’s safety management model was proposed based on the goal of mutual safety management both the owners and the contractors. This model emphasizes that the two parties jointly should compile safety management manuals, procedure documents, and work instructions before the commencement of work so as to regulate the behavior of owners and contractors in the construction process, reduce argument in the process of the project construction, and finally prevent and control construction accidents effectively.

The international construction project is high risks undertaken with multiple objectives and uncertainties. Previous researches on international construction risk management have focused on the identification, categorization, and assessment of risks, but their risks and relationships against the project objectives remains under research. Therefore, the research aims to clarify and determine the complex relationships between international construction risks and objectives of project performance. A meta-network modeling approach was adopted to identify and evaluate the impact of each risk and relationship with the project objectives. The organization risk analysis (ORA-NetScences) software was used as the network modeling platform, which was based on the case study’s data towards the objectives, namely, cost, time, quality, environment, and health and safety. Then, the roots of risk occurrence and their controls were determined based on risk relationship networks. The research reveals new insights into the relationship between risk and objectives in the international construction project.

In the context of big data, problems like difficulty and inaccuracy in data acquisition exist in construction industry in China, which might result in incorrect policy making. This paper discusses the obstacles the government administrative is facing when acquiring data for policy making and compares several commonly used quantitative analysis tools. It is proved that gray correlation analysis method has certain advantages in no limit to the sample size and no requisition for sample data to conform to typical distribution rules. Taking as an example the policy making in promotion of ten new technologies in Wuhan, the gray correlation analysis is used to explore the key influencing factors and their interrelationships so as to provide a more reliable basis for policy formulation.

This study comprehensively analyzes the cooperative management mechanism of a complex construction project. We built efficiency functions, such as cost, progress, and quality, for subsystems by introducing the concepts of efficiency coefficient and system-cooperation degree. We then built a measurement model for the multi-objective cooperative management of a complex construction project. PSO algorithm was used to optimize the proposed model.

In order to clarify the investment return mechanism of the urban underground integrated pipe gallery PPP project and establish a reasonable investment return level guideline, firstly, the feasibility gap subsidy mode is determined as the main investment return mode, and then explore the factors that affect the social to obtain a reasonable return on investment, including the cost of construction of integrated pipe gallery, financing costs, industrial policies, inflation risks, and government financial ability to pay. On the basis of clarifying that the fund structure of the PPP project in urban underground integrated pipe gallery is composed of debt funds and equity funds, this paper combined with the weighted average cost of capital method (WACC) and the capital asset pricing model (CAPM), the reasonable benchmark return on investment of the urban underground integrated pipe gallery PPP project is determined. Finally, through the stock data of 10 listed companies in the industrial cluster industry chain, the parameters of the return rate on investment calculation model constructed in this paper are solved and verified.

Financial risk management is the core of risk management in public-private partnership (PPP) projects. So it is necessary to timely warn the manager about the potential financial risks the project would suffer. Based on the financial distress index system of PPP projects, this paper constructs a financial early warning model of project refinancing during operation period by using the method of system dynamics (SD). Eventually, the proposed model is applied to a case study, and it turns out that this model can predict the changes of cash flow effectively and remind the project manager of the cash flow situation. Based on the financial analysis, managers can take refinancing measures in a timely manner to prevent potential financial risks.

This paper extends the previous literature of mega construction projects (referred to as megaprojects) by empirically exploring the relationships between the internal social capital of the top management team (TMT) and the project performance by considering the mediating effect of the behavioral integration. Questionnaires were used to collect data from 133 top managers of megaprojects in China. The results obtained from partial least squares analysis showed that structural and cognitive social capital have positive impacts on project performance, but relational social capital has no effect on project performance. In addition, the results further indicate that top managers’ behavioral integration has a critical, but varied mediating role in the relationships between internal social capital and project performance. This paper reinforces that the realization of the values of internal social capital needs to be mediated by the exchange and integration of resources. The findings presented in this paper also provide new insights into the use of the TMT’s social capital to facilitate the improvement of project performance in megaprojects.

Considering the characteristics of expressway project based on PPP mode in China, 18 typical factors affecting the expressway PPP project implementation performance are identified from the aspects of economy, production, operation, participants, and sustainability. Then we use the triangular fuzzy AHP (TFAHP) to determine the impact degree of each factor on project implementation effect. According to the result of factors’ weights, this paper analyzed how these various factors affect project performance. The research shows that among all these influencing factors, the road condition in operation, the revenue from road toll, and the return on investment are main factors that affecting the expressway implementation performance. We put forward that the project operational effectiveness and project economy should be paid more attention in the process of performance monitoring and tracking. Through these measures, the performance level of expressway project based on PPP mode can be improved, and the PPP model can be better applied to the construction of infrastructure.

Urban renewal, as an important part of the modern urban development, involves many stakeholders. The appeals and the level of participation of different stakeholders are different. They will form a unique network of relationships through the role of interests. This paper employs social network analysis as the research method and takes Tianzifang revitalization project in Shanghai as an example to develop the relationship network model of stakeholders in the urban renewal project based on the level of participation of stakeholders at different stages. By calculating the density and centrality of the network, it is found that streets office and local residents are the key stakeholders in the “bottom-up” update mode; government plays a supervisory role in it; experts and scholars, media, and artists provide knowledge, dissemination, etc. for the project, they are relatively independent individuals and are less affected by the network. The results and analysis method provide a reference for the update model of other projects and stakeholder management.

Traditional passive teaching style lacks teacher-student interaction, is not conducive to the improvement of comprehensive quality and the idea of “To Teach Is to Learn”. This paper takes a subject, construction cost management, of a university in south China as an example, introduces active teaching, combines a variety of teaching methods to reform existing teaching mode, and analyzes the effect of this reform. It is turned out that the teaching model after reform not only sparks students’ self-study ability and improves their learning efficiency, but also realizes the two-way interaction between teaching and learning and improves students’ comprehensive quality. Moreover, it fosters students’ ability to analyze and solve practical problems of construction cost management independently. Besides, this paper puts forward the following suggestion for further improvement of reformed teaching model according to students’ opinions: first, enhance the interestingness of the course; second, increase the amount of valid homework assignment after class; third, increase the opportunity of learning cost management software; fourth, carry out detailed guidance on big assignment; fifth, increase the amount of after-class homework tutoring.

Through studying the current situation of the urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery, it is found that there is no performance evaluation mechanism for the operation and maintenance stage. In order to improve the operation and maintenance efficiency of the urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery and enhance project safety management capabilities, this paper combines the characteristics of the urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery under PPP mode, and builds the performance evaluation model of operation and maintenance phase based on matter-element analysis method. It provides reference for performance evaluation management of similar projects in related industries.

In PPP project, capital structure is the core point to balance the risks and interests of all parties. Based on the analysis of the company’s capital structure theory and the characteristics of PPP projects, this paper summarizes six possible influencing factors, and through the method of multiple linear regression, the major factors affecting the capital structure of the projects are identified. The research results show that the financial support of government and the aversion to high leverage by related parties make the project company have a lower debt level, while the project risks and non-debt tax shield are positively correlated with project’s debt level. Project profitability and project size have no significant influence on the capital structure. And the influencing factors of PPP project capital structure have the certain difference between different industries.

There are some coordination issues between the construction and operation phase in megaproject. To deeply understand and solve the problem, a construction-operation integration model is established in this paper, which contains the evolution of integration system, the integration process, and its mechanism. The evolution of integration system shows that the construction and operation subsystems are interweaving and integrating during the whole life cycle. The integration process model illustrates how the work in the construction and operation phase is carried out and the interface of two parties (constructor and operator). The integration mechanism describes how the two phases and related parties integrate with each other. On the basis of a single case, ABC International Airport in China, it is verified that the model is adaptable, which provides methodologies for related parties to implement integration.

The construction of major projects easily leads to social stability risk, which has caused the attention of governments at all levels and the community. The social stability risk assessment for major projects has become the pre-procedure and important basis for project approval. Governments at all levels have accumulated some successful experiences in the social stability risk assessment for major projects, but there are also many problems. This paper identifies problems in the social stability risk assessment for major projects through policy text analysis, finally forming a list of problems. This paper shows that the problems identified in social stability risk assessment for major projects can be summarized into three main aspects: assessment organization, assessment operational mechanism, and assessment safeguard measures. This provides a feasible way to improve the social stability risk assessment for major projects.

This paper briefly introduces the operation and maintenance status and operation and maintenance mode of urban underground utility tunnel based on PPP project, and focuses on analyzing the composition of operation and maintenance cost of the urban underground utility tunnel based on PPP project. Based on this, the optimization of the operation and maintenance cost of the urban utility tunnel based on PPP mode is studied from three aspects of establishing information-based intelligent operation and maintenance platform, the performance evaluation mechanism for the operation and maintenance, and reasonable government subsidies, in order to effectively reduce the cost of operation and maintenance.

As one of the earliest large cities facing the bottleneck of land resources in China, Shenzhen has made its efforts to promote urban renewal to sustain urban development. Amounts of urban renewal projects have been listed in urban renewal plans since 2010, yet only a small portion of these projects have been implemented. This paper therefore aims to investigate the determinants of implementation of urban renewal projects in Shenzhen. More specifically, we explore and compare how the factors affect implementation of urban renewal projects located in SEZ (special economic zone) areas and non-SEZ areas. The empirical analysis is based on logistic regression models using authoritative data from government departments and field surveys. The results show that the implementation of the urban renewal projects in SEZ areas is mainly affected by location conditions and property ownership factors. The implementation of the projects in non-SEZ areas is mainly affected by location conditions, property ownership, land use status, and planning factors.

With the construction industry becomes more industrialization and internationalization, the disconnection between construction management education and the demand for professional talents in China’s construction industry is becoming more and more serious. Construction management education faces new challenges. This paper investigates the demands of construction management industry, and uses the factor analysis method to derive the five most important dimensions of construction management demand for talents: personal quality literacy, professional practical skills, personal career development ability, professional subject knowledge, the basic subject knowledge and application, providing a reference for the improvement of construction management education training objectives, and programs from the perspective of demand side.

The urban underground integrated pipe gallery is an important means to solve the current “road zipper” problem in China. The construction of underground integrated pipe gallery is an urban infrastructure construction with long construction period, large project investment, and long investment recovery period. This paper proposes an improvement of AHP based on the expert weight determination method based on the stakeholder perspective. Firstly, the interest coefficient between experts is calculated, then the comprehensive evaluation value of all experts is obtained according to the evaluation value matrix, and then the evaluation weight of each expert in the expert group is determined. Finally, the traditional AHP index weight and the expert evaluation weight are weighted. The average is the combined weight of each indicator. Furthermore, the risk assessment of the PPP project of the underground integrated pipe gallery is provided, which provides a certain reference for the risk management of PPP project of underground pipeline corridor.

Due to the high construction cost, long cycle, slow income, and difficult operation and maintenance of urban underground integrated pipe corridors, so we encourage the adoption of PPP model to promote the rapid development of urban underground integrated pipe corridors. At present, the domestic PPP model is still in the stage of exploration and development, and the corresponding comprehensive evaluation system, especially the comprehensive evaluation system for construction projects in the construction period has yet to be established. Therefore, this paper intends to use the TOPSIS evaluation method to establish a PPP project construction plan for urban underground integrated pipe gallery. Based on the comprehensive evaluation system, and taking the underground comprehensive pipe gallery of Wuhan Optics Valley Central City as an example for empirical analysis and research, it provides scientific guidance for the construction of urban underground integrated pipe gallery PPP project.

As an important part of modern urban construction, urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery has solved the shortcomings of traditional direct burial and decentralized laying modes, and greatly improved urban disaster resilience and urban quality. The introduction of PPP mode can effectively solve the financing problem of the construction of pipe gallery and reduce the risk of government investment. Facing the arrival of the climax of domestic pipe gallery construction, in order to scientifically grasp the market demand situation of urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery PPP project, a market demand forecasting model based on BP neural network is proposed. The policy, economy, law, financing, construction, income, and other pipe gallery PPP project market demand influencing factor sand the number of historical pipe gallery PPP are taken as input parameters, and the market demand data to be predicted are taken as output parameters. The market demand value of the predicted time can be calculated by inputting the predicted time. The results show that the BP neural network model has a good applicability in solving the market demand forecasting problem of urban underground comprehensive pipe gallery PPP project.

Safety issues are more and more emphasized in the global construction industry with China no exception. To cope with the problems of the existing system necessitates the incorporation of third-party inspection mechanism. In response, this research adopted various methods (i.e. literature review, case study, interview, etc.) to obtain deeper insights in this domain. Global literature were first reviewed and a thorough definition extracted consequently. Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai and Shekou Area of Shenzhen was then selected for case study and the current practice of third-party inspection, regarding the organization structure, inspection range/methods, further explained. 15 semi-structured interviews were conducted later so as to more clearly identify the responsibilities/authorities of third-party agencies during their safety inspection. The research findings are beneficial for the government and construction industry at large to successfully apply the third-party inspection mechanism in China.

In order to ensure the quality of services provided by public resource trading platforms, it is necessary to focus on the evaluation of the provision of public services by public resource trading platforms. This paper uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Firstly, the index selection principle is used to determine the service evaluation index of public resource trading platform, and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to determine the weight of each index. Finally, the evaluation score table is designed according to the weight, and the service evaluation system of public resource trading platform is constructed, in order to improve the service quality and level of the public resource trading platform through a reasonable evaluation system.

In recent years, on the one hand, the country’s demand for the construction of resource-conserving, low-carbon, and environment-friendly buildings are strengthening, on the other hand, the disadvantages of cast-in-place buildings such as low construction efficiency and large energy consumption are gradually emerging, so the burgeoning prefabricated building is gradually becoming the future direction of the industry. Dalian as the open window in northeast China, the development of its prefabricated building can be a good demonstration for other cities in northeast China. The paper uses the questionnaire survey and ISM to study the development of prefabricated building in Dalian, fully explores the constraints that influence the development of prefabricated building in Dalian, and put forward some effective suggestions for research results to promote the development of prefabricated building in Dalian.

Urbanization and climate change are the serious challenges for the storm water management around the world. Urbanization changes the natural areas to the hard impervious areas such as roads, roofs, and buildings, etc. These changes consequently affect the natural urban water cycle by accelerating the storm water runoff rates and volume. Under these circumstances, green roof, blue roof, and green blue roof are safe and sustainable strategies in developed areas. This study assesses the effectiveness of these three roofs at the building scale, based on case studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. During the analysis, the maximum retention values from green roof and green blue roof were higher than the green blue roof because their various layers (vegetation and soil layer) in their structure. These layers not only capture more runoff but also delay peak discharges. From the result, retention from green roof and green blue roof were found to be around 10–60% and 30–68% during small rain events respectively. On the other hand, blue roof was effective in small rain events for a shorter period of time. However, this process helps to reduce the runoff volume and peak flow, leading to reduces the flash flooding problems in highly developed areas. Secondly, from the comparing the results of green roof, blue roof, and green blue roof, it was found that the green blue roof is more effective in controlling more rainfall runoff.

With the rapid development of China's economy, the construction industry has also ushered in a new direction of development. The short life of traditional buildings and the problem of poor safety has become more and more obvious. And as a new development direction in the field of construction, prefabricated buildings have attracted more and more attention. This paper that analyzes the current state of prefabricated buildings from three aspects of production technology, construction cost, and national policy uses the method of expert survey to construct the restrictive key influencing factor index system of prefabricated buildings, and uses fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to building a model. Finally, the key factors that constrain the fabricated buildings are proposed on the basis of analyzing the results of the hierarchical method, and the impact on their development is supplemented.

Given the high rate of motor vehicle fatalities in work zones in the U.S., this study proposes the use of a virtual reality (VR) as a tool for studying safety in construction work zones. This testing environment makes possible to oversee the critical safety situations and attenuate the necessary future design adjustments. Besides, VR application in this area of study can revolutionize the traditional training techniques. Remarkably, with the recent technological advances, there is an opportunity to create rich and high quality shared virtual environments (SVEs) in which users can actively interact with one another. This study reports on an experiment in that a virtual highway construction zone has been used as a platform for investigating the real-time interaction between two participants: a driver and a construction worker. The study aims at 1) investigating the impact of experiment design and technology on participants’ SVE experience; 2) suggesting a framework for designing SVEs with higher levels of presence and co-presence; 3) assessing the viability of SVE’s as a research tool in construction and safety domain.

In construction management, organization main target is focus on how to avoid maximum risk related to quality, time, cost, stakeholder, and environmental impacts when planning and designing, therefore promoting the effectiveness of risk, stakeholder, and environmental management to increase the productivity of the project is primordial. A literature review is conducted based on risk, stakeholder, and environmental management, throughout the review, identification of the connection between them is crucial to understand their linkages and lead to the improvement of the integrated risk and environmental management toward a sustainable building, future directions that enable integrating risk, stakeholder, and environmental management to benefit the management process and management outcome of RM, SM, and EM. Risk, stakeholder, and environmental management integration is not easy to solve, but can improve project performance for which this research conceptually justifies its feasibility and benefits, which merits further study and achievement.

In the development of China’s building industrialization, there is an urgent need to solve the problems of disorderly construction and overcapacity of prefabricated component factories in various regions. This paper firstly selects the influencing factors of prefabricated component demand based on literature study, and further modifies the influencing factors through expert interviews. Then the preliminary factors affecting the demand of prefabricated components are established, which include prefabricated component prices, per capita disposable income of urban residents, urban population, urbanization process, economic development level, prefabricated building production value, and government related policies. The measurement of the influencing factors is then designed and data are collected for Beijing City. Next, improved grey correlation method is used to analyze the degree of the factors affecting the demand of prefabricated components. The significant degree ranking of the factors affecting the demand for prefabricated components is finally established. The policy-related factors are among the top factors. This result can be used as an important basis for predicting the demand for prefabricated components in China.

Achieving sustainability has received great attention from the researchers in the construction industry. Numerous studies have explored the interactions between the triple bottom line (economy, society, and environment) of sustainability to achieve it. Nevertheless, most studies exist a given assumption that the three subsystems in interactions model are mutually symmetrical and equal. In this research, from the perspective of material reality in the three separate sectors, it is to explore the cause-effect relationships between the triple bottom line of sustainability in the construction industry. First, the hypotheses that represent the relationships between the triple bottom line of sustainability in construction were proposed. Then structural equation modeling approach was adopted to test the proposed hypotheses. The results show that: first, economic development has directly negative effects on environmental performance; second, economic development has positive effects on social progress; third, social progress plays a mediating role between economic development and environmental performance in construction. The research reported in this paper contributes to the improved understanding of the triple-bottom line in construction in terms of environment protection.

Green construction not only meets the basic requirements of sustainable development, but also contributes to the development of circular economy, which is necessary to promote continuously and comprehensively. As an economical and energy-saving building form, prefabricated buildings are of great significance for the promotion of green construction. This paper analyzed and studied the environmental benefits of fabricated buildings in terms of carbon emissions, noise pollution, and environmental pollution through specific engineering cases to explore the extent to which fabricated buildings reflect the green construction concept.

With the rapid development of prefabricated construction in China, the application of emerging information technologies (EIT) in prefabricated construction have attracted widespread attention. But the risks have also emerged, such as poor application of technology and unclear return on investment. This paper firstly identifies risk factors through literature review and divides them into eight categories: legal risk, policy risk, technical risk, economic risk, market risk, management risk, organizational risk, and personnel risk. The several experts are invited to value the significance of the risk factors. Entropy weight method is used to analyze the weights of each factors and screen out the most important factors. Then a list of major risk factors of EIT application are built. There are six main risk factors, including management model shifts, policy orientation, return on investment, lack and loss of professionals, technical applicability, and the perfection of normative standards. It is hoped that this list of risk factors provides a useful reference for further risk assessment and management in EIT applications.

The functioning of the industrial chain of construction industrialization is based on the labor division and collaboration between designers, suppliers, and contractors, among whom the knowledge sharing plays an important role in improving the production efficiency of the whole chain. This paper establishes an evolutionary game model to discuss about the evolution of their strategies in knowledge sharing within the industrial chain of construction industrialization. Costs and benefits of these three groups under different knowledge sharing strategies are analyzed and their respective utility functions are established based on the theory of labor division and transaction cost. The evolutionary stability strategy and regularity of the tripartite knowledge sharing behavior are obtained by using the replication dynamic equation, and a system dynamics model is established to carry out further simulations.

One of irresistible trend of construction industry is prefabricated building in that it contributes to boosting sustainability and productivity against conventional cast in situ methods. Nevertheless, the higher cost has logged its promotion behind in which prefabricated rate functions as a main course. This paper makes analysis on prefabricated rate alteration’s influence on construction cost during phases of production, transformation, and construction of prefabricated building by comparing prefabricated building cost with conventional building cost. Setting prefabricated facades as an example, it has been analyzed how fluctuant prefabricated rate exerts a specific influence on the construction cost and therefore the analyses come to a conclusion that the prefabricated rate and construction cost have a positive correlation.

For older adults who are aging in place, the neighborhood environment of their communities play a pretty important role in improvement of their quality of life (QoL) due to their functional impairment and low mobility. This study investigates how urban neighborhood environment affect QoL of older adults who are aging in place. The questionnaire is designed according to literature review of neighborhood environment and WHOQOL-BREF, and 475 eligible older adults aging in place are surveyed. Reliability test and structural equation modeling (SEM) are adopted to analyze qualitative data and establish the relationship between neighborhood environment and QoL of older adults. The findings reveal that 12 neighborhood environmental factors belonging to four aspects are related to QoL, among them, natural environment, peer/neighborhood support, facilities related to daily life, accessibility to facilities, and design-related safety influence QoL more significantly. This study provides valuable guidelines to optimize urban neighborhood environment for supporting “aging in place”.

In this paper, the fabricated building enterprise which owns component factory is taken as the goal, starting from the three stages of component production, transportation, and installation, and taking the dynamic influencing factors of the construction cost in the process of construction as the main research point. Using the improved entropy and DEMATEL method is to identify the main factors that affect the three stage construction cost of the fabricated building production, transportation, and installation. The weight of influencing factors can be identified objectively by improved entropy method. Applying the identified index weight, and then using DEMATEL method can calculate the degree of influence, affected degree, center degree, and cause degree of each factor. The results showed that: the factors that directly affect the construction cost in the production stage are the complexity of component, the number of new mold, and the number of unqualified components. The factors that directly affect the construction cost in the transportation stage are the type of transportation vehicle, the distance, and the consuming time of transportation. The factors that directly affect the construction cost during the installation stage are the number of hoisting equipment, the number of longitudinal components, and the number of secondary hoisting components. The other factors are affected by the direct factors, which indirectly affect the cost.

This paper is based on Zhonghuan College reconstruction project as the research object, setting carbon emissions calculation model in different stages to calculate the carbon emissions by divided the build process into building materials production, transportation, construction installation, operation and maintenance, and waste removal five stages. Through the model calculating points out that the building materials production and construction in the use and maintenance of operational update phase of carbon emissions is one of the biggest stage. At the same time, by analysis of the result shows that compare with the using of raw materials, using the recycled materials can decrease the waste of resources and also has great potential for reduction.

In recent years, ignoring sustainable development, people have overemphasized economic development and urbanization, thus resulting in some energy and environmental problems. On the basis of adhering to the development of low-carbon economy, this paper introduces the concept connotation of low-carbon economy and green building; mentions the necessity of green building for the development of low-carbon economy; expounds the development status of construction industry and the development scale of green building; analyzes the problems existing in the development of green building at present, and proposes that the government should formulate more detailed policy standards, supplemented by financial support; increase publicity efforts; promote the "green building" logo; promote the operation of green building projects and give full play to their practical significance; and conduct green transformation of the completed buildings. Through various measures, it is expected to promote the development of green buildings, facilitate the large-scale promotion of low-carbon economy, and form a good situation of harmonious coexistence between human and nature.

In order to disperse the liability risk caused by the potential quality defects of prefabricated components, this paper introduced the mutual insurance pattern and government supervision factors to construct a cooperative game model with prefabricated component manufacturer, mutual insurance companies, and government, and explained the reason for the restriction in the alliance. Then, the weights of the three parties in the alliance are analyzed, and the weighted Shapley value method is used to analyze the alliance dividend of the feasible alliance. The results show that the three parties have gained the highest income when forming a cooperative alliance among the prefabricated component manufacturer, mutual insurance companies, and the government; meanwhile, it is easier for prefabricated component manufacturer to obtain higher profits by cooperating with the mutual insurance companies rather than the government. Finally, rational suggestions to the three parties were put forward according to the calculation results.

The demand for affordable housing has been increasing in Beijing in recent years. Under the proposal of energy conservation and emissions reduction, the task of promoting industrialization in the construction of affordable housing deserves special attention. However, due to the late start of China’s affordable housing industrialization, it is insufficient in the research on affordable housing industrialization combined with energy saving and emissions reduction. To deal with this problem, in this paper, firstly, energy conservation and emissions reduction benefit measurement method suitable for affordable housing construction is introduced. Then, through the questionnaire analysis, the 70 affordable housing projects in Beijing are statistically summarized and described. Furthermore, based upon the proposed method, these projects’ performance in energy saving and emissions reduction is calculated and analyzed, so that the main construction factors affecting the affordable housing environmental performance are found out. Finally, through the above analysis, some suggestions are provided on the development of affordable housing industrialization in Beijing from the perspective of energy conservation and emissions reduction.

Prefabricated building has become more and more important in aspect of pushing the development of modernization of construction industry along with its growing trend in recent years. Problems associated with the information management of prefabricated components come into prominence. In order to clarify this issue, this paper focuses on past studies and concludes that integrated management for components’ information via information technology combining with other technologies, from the perspective of full life-cycle of components, may work on improving information management, while at the same time suggests improving the awareness of the operability of theories and technique.

With the advancement of science and technology, fabricated buildings have become the mainstream of the construction industry, but due to its unique construction method, there are more overlaps and iterative problems in its entire process. This paper takes the prefabricated building project as the research object and conducts in-depth research on the construction process. First, we build a DSM model of the process, analyze the overlaps, and iterate the problem in the process. Then we use the DSM matrix to optimize the first DSM model. Finally, according to the DSM calculation method, combined with the specific case to show that the DSM matrix can solve the overlap and iteration problems which exist in prefabricated buildings. The results prove that the use of the DSM matrix for process optimization cannot only significantly reduce the risk of rework, but also cut project costs and shorten the construction period.

The improvement of construction energy efficiency has an important significance for the sustainable development of construction industry. According to the framework of energy efficiency, a Super-SBM model is built to study the energy efficiency of China's interprovincial construction industry from 2006 to 2015. The results have shown that, (1) during this period, the impact of technological innovation on the energy efficiency of construction industry has generally improved, but its role has limitations; (2) there is a significant difference in energy efficiency in various regions, which is higher in the eastern coastal areas than in the central and western regions; (3) despite the improvement in the labor and capital redundancy of construction industry, the energy supply, and carbon emissions redundancy are still not positive, which has great potential for energy conservation and emissions reduction. Finally, this paper proposes relevant policy recommendations to further promote the energy conservation and emissions reduction process for construction industry.

China’s construction industry has long been in the extensive development mode of “high pollution and high energy consumption.” As the ecological civilization strategy deepens in China, improving the energy and environmental efficiency of the construction industry is vital for the sector’s green transition. To define and quantify the “Green Efficiency” of the construction industry, this study integrated greenhouse gas (GHG), air pollutant emissions, and energy consumption into the efficiency evaluation framework, which was established using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist models to measure China’s provincial green efficiency from 2010 to 2015. The results show that due to the low level of technological development, the green efficiency of the construction industry in central China is generally low, but the central provinces rank higher in the national green efficiency system when compared with conventional (excluding green considerations) efficiency system. The enhancement of green efficiency in the northeast and central provinces is slow. At last, this study also shed light on directions for the green development of China's construction industry.

In recent years, in order to change the rough construction method, prefabricated buildings have been vigorously developed in China. To rationally evaluate the sustainability of this new construction technology, it is necessary to study the differences in consumption between prefabricated and conventional buildings. This paper uses a comparative analysis method to develop a detailed engineering consumption differences calculation model from the three aspects of labor, material, and machinery based on a design atlas and criteria, and a construction quota document. Then, multiple case studies of 10 real-life prefabricated buildings are conducted. From the results the following conclusions can be drawn: the labor consumption of the prefabricated building project is significantly decreased; as for materials, the consumption of concrete, steel formwork, and iron parts is increased, and the consumption of wood formwork, masonry block, and mortar is decreased; as for machinery, the consumption of tower cranes, mortar mixers is increased, and the consumption of steel processing machinery, woodworking machinery, and trucks is decreased.

Carbon emissions contribute greatly to climate change, which is about 82.9% of total greenhouse gas emissions. Many researches focus on the source of carbon emissions and find that construction industry is one of the sources which is responsible to higher CO₂ emissions in the world. In order to cut down the carbon emissions, energy efficient building design and low carbon materials are introduced to building sector, which are commendable methods to sustainably decrease the carbon emissions during project operation stage. However, the environmental impacts associated with construction process should not be underestimated. Because construction process is always separated into many phases, the process is complex and has many participants, the calculation of carbon emissions during construction process is not an easy thing. The divergence and limitation exist both on the research range and the carbon sourcing method. This research used emissions factor method and construction quota to calculate the carbon emissions during the construction stage, analysis the relationship of construction machine consumption and the total carbon emissions during the construction process, as well as find out which activity has the more emissions reduction potential. This paper helps the project manager have a clear understanding of the activities which lead to more carbon emissions and find the method of improving the onsite logistics process to get a clean construction method.

In recent years, global warming and the energy crisis have brought double challenges to the development of human society. China has put forward the concept of sustainable development in the whole process of development. At the same time, the green building gets fast development and promotion. Some problems have been exposed with the fast development of green building, the traditional construction project management mode is not suitable for green building project management, because it only focuses on the content of the project development stage and ignores the problem of the project operation stage. This paper describes the project life-cycle theory, elaborates the concept, connotation, and characteristics of green building firstly. Then, the life cycle project management method of green building was proposed. Finally, this paper will put forward the realization of green building from three aspects of architecture, project, and society based on life-cycle theory.

The high investment cost of prefabricated buildings has significantly slowed down the pace of their development in China. Whether they have economic benefit and where it comes from are questions that need to be answered. This paper first develops a quantitative economic benefit calculation model for prefabricated buildings based on cash flow and an incremental analysis method, and then a case study is conducted to verify its applicability. The conclusions drawn are as follows: the economic benefits of a prefabricated building consist of two parts: increased cash inflows and decreased cash outflows. The increased cash inflow indicators include self-raised funds, and the decreased cash outflow indicators include bank loan repayments, interest expenses, land costs, and taxes. This model can be used for developers to understand more clearly the sources and destination of investment funds when implementing prefabricated buildings and maximizing profits with limited cost.

Prefabricated construction has been widely used in China due to its advantages in delivery, productivity, sustainable, and environmental performance, etc. With the support of the government, precast concrete construction has become the most important prefabricated method. However, because the logic of general prefabricated construction does not fit well with industry status, the practice still face too many obstacles. In order to fully adopt the prefabricated technology, industry participants have improved the general prefabrication method. Despite extensive research into attitudes and practice surrounding the uptake of prefabricated technology, there is limited understanding of how best to distinguish the industrialized logic between general prefabricated construction (GPC) and improved prefabricated construction method (IPC), and integrate their use into suitable construction conditions. This paper established a comparative framework based on action study from the perspective of the technology system, industrialized strategy, construction performance, and impact on the construction industry. The results of the comparative study proved that the two construction logics differ in their similarities, the improved prefabricated construction method is more in line with the development of China's construction industry than the general prefabricated construction in most instances. Both of the two methods have their applicable conditions.

The operational efficiency of real estate companies has a huge impact on the development of the construction industry. This study took the top 10 real estate companies in 2018 as the research objects, making the total assets and total operation costs as input indicators, and adopting the main operation income, net profit, and return on net assets as output indicators. Then, DEA model was established to evaluate the companies’ operational efficiencies. Finally, the relative efficiency values and effectiveness of each company’s DEA were obtained, and the detailed improvements for those DEA invalid companies were proposed. The findings can help real estate companies identify and improve the factors that reduce operational efficiency, and also help the government to manage the industry as a whole, and provide supports for the policy-making.

The housing supply elasticity manifests as the sensitivity of the housing supply change rate to the housing price change. Therefore, in the implementation of housing regulation policies, supply elasticity is an important consideration factor in the housing supply side. On the basis of the housing supply elasticity estimated by the empirical analysis of the panel data of 34 large and medium-sized cities, a regression analysis was conducted on the empirical model to examine the respective influences of elasticity of land supply, proportion of land transfer revenue gained through bid, auction, and listing, industrial structure variable, urban GDP, and parcel area on elasticity of housing supply. The study of these factors of housing supply elasticity is of great significance to the establishment of a long-term regulation mechanism for China's real estate industry.

With the development of social economy and the improvement of living standards, the drawbacks of closed residential areas have become increasingly prominent. The traditional residential area model has been unable to adapt to the development needs of China’s urban core land and the needs of the growing daily life of residents. In February 2016, the “Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Further Strengthening the Management of Urban Planning and Construction” proposed that the new residential buildings in China should promote the block system. In principle, closed residential quarters will no longer be built. The completed residential quarters and unit complexes should be gradually opened. In this context, this paper builds a mathematical model based on dynamic game theory to analyze the impact of opening different types of communities on surrounding roads, and further explore whether the open community can optimize the road network structure, improve road capacity, and traffic conditions.

The difficulty young people have in purchasing houses in a developed city is a global issue. College and university graduates are the backbones in urban development, but their housing problems are often difficult to be solved. In this paper, we study the factors affecting housing afford ability of college and university graduates in Guangzhou. It is concluded that factors such as age, marriage and childbearing status, original family support, education level, and income have significant impact on housing affordability. Age and marriage status are the most important factors that impact housing affordability, while sexual difference is much less important. For graduates aging 24–29, house purchase mainly depends on the original family support. Also, higher university level leads to a higher chance to afford housing.

Land resources usage and management is really a key point of urban development and renewal. In this paper we analysis current land management mode in China, which focuses on the first-time development of land resources, and has the problem of government dominant, market segmentation between urban and rural area, uneven distribution of economic benefits. Through a comparative study of “three old” reform policy by showing the model graph, we found that it focuses on the status quo of ownership of land resources, and respecting the rural collective will of development. It can also balance the distribution of return of all parties, which can make the secondary allocation of urban and rural resources more economical and effective. Finally we put forward some suggestions which may help improve the implementation of the “three old” reform policy, and help promote urban renewal and balancing urban and rural development.

In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of PHC pipe piles in high piles wharf with different conditions are analyzed. The results show that, the maximum relative displacement of piles is at the piles’ top; the largest bending moment is at the soil’s boundary or the junction between piles and bank slope; the shearing force of the piles have great change below the junction, and suddenly increases at the boundary of soil, where the dangerous sections appear. In addition, the value of the stress and deformation get different with conditions’ change. With the increase of piles diameter, only the relative displacement increase; with the depth of piles into soil and focal increasing, only the bending moment increase; as the seismic intensity increase, all increase. Therefore, it is of great engineering significance to take measures for different geological condition and seismic intensity to make decisions of piles or make improvement measures at the dangerous sections in order to satisfy design and engineering needs.

Rapid urbanization led to various urban problems worldwide. The Chinese government has been devoting to the promotion of smart cities aiming at solving these diseases. However, it is unconfirmed whether the city is more resilient with modern technologies provided when unexpected predicaments like natural disasters occur. Therefore, it is urgent to consider disaster resilience in a smart city. This paper provides a holistic indicator framework for measuring the disaster resilience of smart city from physical, economic, social, institutional, and environmental dimensions. The top 20 smart cities in China are chosen as samples to apply the framework. The results demonstrate that the overall disaster resilience of smart cities is at a relatively low level and imbalances between different cities are found. The resilience between the five dimensions for each smart city also varies. Physical, economic, and institutional strength are proved to be determinant factors in the overall resilience of a smart city.

In China most real estate enterprises have been taken asset-heavy management mode, which integrates investment, construction, and management to obtain the whole profit of project. But nowadays, this kind of asset-heavy operation mode which takes land and earns the value-added income as the core cannot adapt to the new market situation. Real estate enterprises need to transform their operation mode and adopt the operation mode of “Asset-light and Partnership-heavy”. This is a horizontal integrated operation mode, which emphasizes the strategic partnership of the node enterprises in the project value chain in order to reduce their own business risks. Based on value chain theory, the paper takes China’s X Real Estate as a case to analyze “Asset-light and Partnership-heavy” mode, and uses EVA model to evaluate its transformation effect. The conclusions can help real estate enterprises focus on the core competitiveness of enterprises, decentralize business risks, and ensure sustainable development.

Urban housing prices have significant spatial differences in different locations, with a spatial imbalance created. This paper takes Chongqing’s central area as an example, based on housing price data for 476 newly-opening projects for 2011–2017. The ESDA and Kriging interpolation methods were used to analyze the spatial characteristics of residential prices. 8 influencing factors were selected based on the characteristic price theory and the impact mechanism of residential prices was discussed through the construction of PLS and GWR models. The results show that: the spatial distribution of housing prices is inhomogeneous with multiple peaks; the city center, the subway, the key primary and secondary schools, third level 1st class hospital, the municipal parks, and the river views have a significant increase in housing prices; the highly spatial heterogeneity of the commercial and facility promotes the premium of houses in the neighboring areas; transportation accessibility significantly increases the housing prices outside the core areas of the city; landscape comfort boosts the appreciation of housing prices at the junction of two rivers and in the north houses along river. Under the guidance of the “multi-center group structure”, the proximity, accessibility, and landscape endowments of Chongqing’s centers and groups are different, which explains the spatial heterogeneity of housing prices.

Under the national macro-policy regulation of deleveraging, the adjustment of capital structure of real estate enterprises and the relevance of the impact on the corporate financial performance become the focus of academic circles. This paper selects the financial data of 55 real estate listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2014 to 2016, adopts the multiple regression analysis method, and chooses five indicators from the aspects of debt structure and equity structure to conduct empirical analysis. The results show that the asset-liability ratio has significant and negative influence on both the financial performance and market performance of real estate enterprises. On the one hand, it verifies the strong applicability of the capital structure theory in China real estate industry. On the other hand, it is faced with deleveraging macro-economic policies and the continuous severe regulation of real estate industry. The real estate market will remain depressed, and real estate enterprises will face great financing difficulties and be under debt repayment pressure. The suggestions of optimizing capital structure and improving financial performance of listed real estate companies are put forward.

The role of the real estate industry occupies in the national economy is an empirical topic to be answered. Based on the input-output data of Heilongjiang Province in 2012, this paper calculates the correlation effect and ripple effect of the real estate industry. The results show that the development of the real estate industry in Heilongjiang Province has the characteristics of extensive growth driven by material investment. The low quality of its development is manifested by its strong backward correlation effect with the raw material consumption industry and its strong forward correlation effect with industry-oriented service. The influence coefficient and sensitivity coefficient of the real estate industry in Heilongjiang Province are less than the average level of the whole country, and its economic impact is not obvious. Therefore, the real estate industry in Heilongjiang Province should not be developed as the pillar industry, improving the quality of real estate services will be the focus of future policy-making.

Facing the strange phenomenon of housing price “rising and rising repeatedly” and the dilemma of price separating from value, based on the perspective of value, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the main body of housing value and divides it into two parts: the value of the housing itself and the added value endowed by the value of the city where the housing is located. Then, by sorting out the literature and extracting the influencing factors of housing price, four dimensions influencing the housing value were determined: urban modern value, urban original value, residential investment, and its utility value, as well as the basic residential function value and corresponding index system. At last, this paper constructs the equation model of housing price structure, and uses Amos software to verify the model with an example. The results show that the model is reasonable and the four dimensions have a positive effect on the housing price. Therefore, this paper puts forward some suggestions to provide some reference for residential development, buyer selection, and urban planning.

In addition to general factors and regional factors, individual factors also have an important impact on housing price. Based on the transaction data of Beijing second-hand apartments, the paper first preprocesses the data through general factor revision, regional factor revision, and individual factor numeralization, and then analyzes the data through factor analysis, correlation analysis, and other mathematical analysis methods. The results show that individual factors have certain influence on housing price but to a limited degree. Among them, housing property has the strongest influence in the widest range, and the price of commercial apartments with complete property right is the highest. And next, the layout also has a significant influence on the price; the price of small-sized apartments is lower than that of the large-sized, which is especially obvious in high-grade residential areas. In addition, housing price is also influenced by orientation, completion year, floor, and some other factors.

Local governments in China faced a mismatch between fiscal revenue and expenditure responsibilities after tax sharing reform in 1994. Governments are not only suppliers of public goods, but also monopolists of the primary market of land, operating land assets through land transfer, and land mortgage to increase extra budgetary fiscal revenue. Relevant research and empirical evidence found that local governments tend to break the balance of public goods supply when pursuing the growth of land revenues, and they excessively increased economic construction expenditures and weakened investment in social security and general public expenditure. However, through the empirical analysis of panel data of 30 provincial capital cities in China from 2007 to 2015, we found that these cities tend to improve the overall public service environment in the region through land financing, thus continuously improving their relative competitive advantages.

This paper divides China’s land finance into two parts: land transfer income and land tax, then uses K-means clustering method to classify the dependence of 31 provinces on land finance into severe, sub-severe, moderate, and mild. It is found that the dependence on land finance of provinces across the country has declined from east to west. And the higher the fiscal deficit, the greater the dependence on the land finance. The lower the per capita GDP is, the less dependent on the land finance is. Based on this, the following two suggestions are proposed: further improve the current fiscal decentralization system, giving local governments more financial power; further improve the budget management system, alleviating the local government’s dependence on land finance.

Adaptive design is an urgent need for contemporary urban development and environmental change. The water adaptability of urban green space is a new functional requirement for urban green space under the background of the construction of sponge city. It is an important carrier for the effective utilization of urban water resources and improvement of water ecological protection. Based on the conception and analysis of adaptability, hackles the concept of water adaptability to the construction of urban green space in the context of the construction of the sponge city, then explores its latest research situation in urban water problems and urban green space. The paper proposes adaptive targets, adaptive subjects, and ideas for water adaptability in urban green space, providing perspectives and references for more in-depth development of urban green space adaptation.

Residents’ satisfaction with their housing is a major event that affects the happiness of the people. This paper investigates the housing situation of Harbin residents based on the characteristics of households, and uses the ordered probit model to empirically test the main factors affecting residents’ satisfaction. The results show that neighbourliness, community hardware facilities, disturbance, and activities of community organizations have a significant impact on residents’ housing satisfaction. Family demographic factors, family housing quality factors, and family housing surrounding supporting factors have no significant impact on residents’ housing satisfaction. The government should promulgate policies to solve the problem of disturbing the people. The community should also strengthen the maintenance of neighborhood relations and the construction of hardware facilities, and to organize more activities to meet the daily needs of residents, so as to achieve the goal of building a harmonious socialist community.

Land acquisition and storage in China is a process in which the government regains and reorganizes land using rights as a reserve. The development of the real estate market relies on land. Housing price has become a prominent social problem in China. This article studies the effect of land collection and storage system on house price through linear regression model based on least square method. The land mortgage data and housing price data of 42 cities in China in the past decade show that there is an obvious correlation between land storage system and housing price, and land storage system is used effectively. It can control the real estate market and promote the healthy development of the housing market.

Urbanization and real estate industry are the prompting force of economic development at the current stage. The coordinated development of them is the foundation of the harmonious society. So it is significant to study on the relevance of them for their own sake as well as the entire social-economic system. Through analyzing the present status of neo-urbanization and real estate market in Heilongjiang, the paper proves that these two parts are complementary because neo-urbanization is the driving force which promotes the real property market, while real property market is the carrier which can support the neo-urbanization. Therefore, the paper put forward several suggestions on related policy-making to guarantee the sound economic system.

Safety on construction sites is always a major problem in China. Recently third-party inspection receives more and more attention due to various safety-related issues involved. Based on literature review and practical field data analysis in a southern city, this paper built a third-party inspection system including construction process and management behaviour, with four hierarchies and 43 factors. A weighted-literature calculation method and an improved AHP method were adopted to determine the weights of factors. Finally, the system was implemented to inspect an ongoing construction project and a 6-point semi-quantitive method used to asses sits safety level on site. Consequently, the major safety problems of the construction site were identified, and the relevant safety management has been improved as a result. The findings also suggest that the established system is both valid and objective.

Road construction industry has the characteristics of large labor intensity, intensive working exposure, and adverse working conditions, which pose a great threat to the health of workers. Enterprises’ occupational health management is generally considered to be a key factor for protecting workers’ health. The existing research focus on the occupational health management of enterprises and the occupational health status of workers respectively, the differences between the two are ill-defined. This study developed a Deming model of occupational health management. From the view of cognitive bias, the certain gap as to the understanding of occupational health management between enterprises and workers was analyzed, as well as the condition the occupational health management of road construction industry was also examined. The findings can provide references for related enterprises on improving occupational health management, thus effectively protecting workers’ occupational health.

Prefabricated construction is an inevitable choice for the construction industry to catch up with other counterpart industries. Compared with traditional cast-in-place construction, prefabricated construction not only saves time, reduces construction costs, improves quality, but also alleviates the environmental impacts on the neighborhood of a construction site. Recently, the Chinese government has issued a series of guidelines to accelerate the development of prefabricated buildings. This paper studies the prefabricated building policy text in Guangzhou, focusing on the goals, key tasks, policy support, and safeguard measures. The analysis of the text related to the prefabricated building policies contributes to the implementation of relevant policies in Guangzhou and enriches the research content of Chinese prefabricated building development. The study is conducive to the healthy and vigorous development of Guangzhou construction industry.

From its inception in urban studies in the 1930s, the notion of urban sprawl was institutionalized and globalized. And the research on urban sprawl or urban growth has mostly focused on the urbanization of buildings, such as bungalows changing into skyscrapers. Moreover, there are a lot of scholars study urban sprawl from the aspect of evolution and development of industry in the urban fringe. But more and more sociologists present an idea that urbanism is not only the evolution of land use or changes of other objective things, is but also a kind of life style, a whole set of social and culture characteristics, which is totally different from that of rural area. This review summarizes studies of urban sprawl from many sides, and then conducts a diverse understanding of urban sprawl and urbanization, which points out that social is made of people and urbanization should add the concept of people’s urbanism, such as the social mixing, social integration. Only when the social urbanism is completed, the urbanization is done and urban sprawl finishes.

With the advancement of urbanization, urban land use structure is constantly changing, and urban land development faces new challenges. At the same time, in the face of the continuous input and output of various materials in the city, urban carbon metabolism has gradually become a research hotspot. This paper analyzes the carbon emissions of urban materials input and output in Guangzhou from 2007 to 2016, quantifies the carbon emissions, establishes a model of urban carbon metabolism, and explores the relationship between urban land area and urban cultivated land through correlation analysis. Finally, suggestions for balancing urban carbon metabolism flux and improving carbon metabolism efficiency are proposed, which provide scientific methods and tools for further promoting the sustainable development of urban land.

The contradiction between the construction land shortage and the urban development of the mountain city determines the inevitability of land intensive use (LIU). As a typical mountain city, the rational use of land in Chongqing is of typical significance for the coordination of land utilization and urban development in other mountainous cities. This paper employed Chongqing's land use and urban development data from 1998 to 2016, adopted econometric models to study the impact of LIU on Chongqing’s development quality. The results showed that: (1) the LIU level and urban development quality (UDQ) in Chongqing have been improved since 1998, and the growth rate of UDQ is 8.93 times that of LIU; (2) the impact of LIU on the UDQ is negative in the short term, while the long-term increase in LIU of 1% will promote the quality of urban development by 1.54%; (3) 55.80% of the variance in UDQ is explained by LIU, exceeding its own impact. Therefore, the government should pay attention to the role of LIU in the development of mountainous cities, adopt long-term strategies, fully exploit the potentialities of stock land, and protect natural landscapes of mountain cities.

With the development of China’s economic level, the appearance of cities and towns has changed with each passing day. Many clean and comfortable residential districts have sprung up in cities and towns, and the living quality and living environment of urban residents have been improved. Along with the urbanized development, the shantytown has seriously hindered the urbanized advancement. So whether the problem of shantytowns can be solved directly determines the speed of urbanization. Based on the analysis of the problems existing in Ningbo shantytowns’ reconstruction planning, the dynamics model is established to simulate investigation data. On the premise of validity of the model, the paper analyses the current policy system, combines the existing problems of shantytowns’ reconstruction, and explores the reconstruction mode and planning scheme of shantytowns in Ningbo. Based on the sensitivity analysis of the model, some policy suggestions are put forward to promote the shantytowns’ reconstruction.

In China, public rental housing helps solve the problem of “sandwich layer” housing difficulties. However, public rental housing is still in the exploratory stage. Illegal sublease phenomenon occurs frequently, which destroys the available supply system of housing and harms the public interest. How to prevent sublease behavior has become an urgent problem. This paper analyzes the interest relationship among governmental regulators, censors, and tenants. Based on evolutionary game theory, the stability strategies of the three parties under different conditions and the three groups of evolutionary stability strategies of the whole game system under different initial conditions are obtained. At last, some suggestions for the path innovation of Chinese public rental housing regulatory system are put forward.

Infrastructure construction is not only a guarantee for the even running of economic and social activities, but also an important evaluation tool for the regional construction level and sustainable development capacity. This paper first modifies the Chinese provincial input-output tables among 31 regions in 2012 and obtains multi-sector input-output tables including 11 infrastructure sectors. Next, according to the functional nature, we divide the infrastructure sectors into two categories: economic sectors and social sectors and calculate the output efficiency and correlation efficiency based on these two categories respectively. The analysis results show that the output efficiency of social infrastructure is generally higher than economic infrastructure; while the output efficiency of infrastructure in developed provinces is usually lower than backward provinces. In terms of correlation efficiency, the push-pull effect of economic infrastructure on the upstream and downstream sectors is higher than social infrastructure. The efficiency of economic infrastructure in developed regions is high while backward provinces have an advantage in social infrastructure.

A large amount of land is occupied because of the new urbanization which makes great difference to farmers’ life. However, there are some problems in the constitution and related laws in China, such as unclear concept definitions and unreasonable compensation standards. In addition, land acquisition and demolition projects tend to focus more on short-term compensation while long-term guarantees for farmers deprived of land are neglected. The issue of compensation for land acquisition and demolition involves the balance of interests among the relevant stakeholders, including the government, farmers, and enterprises and so on. A sound and effective compensation mechanism for land acquisition and demolition can correctly guide the steady progress of land acquisition and demolition work. Nowadays, relevant researches focus on the improvement of policy system and the game among various stakeholders. This paper combs and summarizes China’s compensation policies for land acquisition and demolition, then compares, analyzes, and summarizes some domestic and foreign literature on compensation policies for land acquisition and demolition, and summarizes the existing problems of China's compensation policies for land acquisition and demolition, as well as the improvement measures proposed by various scholars.

In order to protect the ecological environment of Taiyuan City as well as promoting the coordinated development among land, ecology, and economic, the paper firstly got the land-use state and land-use transfer matrix of the year 2006, the year 2011, and the year 2016 by collecting remote sensing images and did remote-sensing interpretation and classification by software ENVI, then it made a conclusion that during these periods, the area of construction land was expanding and the area of cultivated land was decreasing. Better protection of forest resources had been done in Taiyuan City. The cultivated land had the largest transfer-out area and its main transfer type was woodland. Then the paper used Costanza’s evaluation formula, which was published in 1997, for reference to estimate the land ecosystem service value (ESV) of Taiyuan City and verified the reliability of the results. Then it made a conclusion that the general trend of ESV changing in Taiyuan was rising from the year 2006 to the year 2016. During these periods, the value of maintaining biodiversity and soil conservation were the largest, but the value of food production was the lowest. Finally, some problems were summed up from the perspective of land-use and ecological protection, and the corresponding countermeasures were put forward from the human reflection.

The conception of “Winter and Summer Park” is introduced in this paper, and its important significance is proposed that “Winter and Summer Park” is able to maintain the effective supply of public winter sports venues, improve the formation of potential customers’ preference for winter sports, enrich the connotation of winter sports culture, develop the winter vitality index of urban and suburban in north China. Meanwhile, the supply side revolution measures are put forward, such as establishing the editing principles of codes for planning and designing “Winter and Summer Park”, innovating the systems and patterns of building and operating “Winter and Summer Park”, so the feasibility of “Winter and Summer Park” is confirmed in further.

Architectural industrialization is a process of modernization development of construction industry led by information on the base of modern construction industrialization with modern technology and methods, highlighting the combination of construction technology with economy and market. It is of great significance to comprehensively improve the construction quality, promote the upgrading of traditional construction industry, and change the construction mode of urbanization. Universities are the bases for cultivating higher talents. This paper analyzed the development status of architectural industrialization in China, takes the engineering management major as an example, expounds the necessity of implementing personnel training and teaching reform in this major, and puts forward corresponding strategies.
