Meta-Network Modelling for International Construction Risk Management of Multiple Objectives

Publication: ICCREM 2019: Innovative Construction Project Management and Construction Industrialization

ABSTRACT

The international construction project is high risks undertaken with multiple objectives and uncertainties. Previous researches on international construction risk management have focused on the identification, categorization, and assessment of risks, but their risks and relationships against the project objectives remains under research. Therefore, the research aims to clarify and determine the complex relationships between international construction risks and objectives of project performance. A meta-network modeling approach was adopted to identify and evaluate the impact of each risk and relationship with the project objectives. The organization risk analysis (ORA-NetScences) software was used as the network modeling platform, which was based on the case study’s data towards the objectives, namely, cost, time, quality, environment, and health and safety. Then, the roots of risk occurrence and their controls were determined based on risk relationship networks. The research reveals new insights into the relationship between risk and objectives in the international construction project.
