Medium-Scale Agent-Based Transport Simulation in Shenzhen, China

ABSTRACT

With increasing urban congestion and the emergence of new mobility services, the number of influencing factors accommodated in the transport system is growing, and the transport system is becoming more complex. As traditional trip-based transport demand models, such as the four-stage model, cannot solve complex modern transport problems, activity-based microscopic transport demand models are gradually being applied to transport planning. Based on the MATSim (Multi-Agent Transport Simulation) simulation platform, this paper combines multi-agent with the activity-based model to solve traffic network simulation problems in the MaWan area of Qianhai, Shenzhen, China. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of using an activity-based travel demand model based on the MATSim simulation platform to simulate traffic networks in the MaWan area of Qianhai, Shenzhen, providing a valuable tool for transport planning in complex urban environments.
