ABSTRACT
With the wide application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of transportation, transportation systems are developing toward autonomy. Autonomous transportation system (ATS) architecture is an abstract description of the functions, logic, and physical components of the future ATS. The reliability evaluation of ATS architecture is an effective means to ensure the reliable operation of ATS. Starting from the functional architecture of ATS, we combine the logical and physical architecture of the system and construct the functional logic tree of ATS architecture based on the fault tree method, and then evaluate the reliability of ATS architecture. Taking the architecture of the vehicle environment awareness sub-service (VEAS) in driverless intersection scenes as an example, the simulation results show that this method not only can evaluate the overall reliability of ATS architecture but also evaluate the importance of its physical components to the overall reliability of the architecture.
