Abstract
Caltrans has been working on a fish passage/stream restoration project at the Solstice Creek Pacific Coast Highway (Highway) culvert in Malibu. They have been working with resource agencies and stakeholders to develop a sustainable solution to fish passage at the ocean outfall. The proposed design approach consists of removing the culvert invert, the concrete apron on the inlet side of the culvert, and the outlet apron on the beach to improve flow depths for fish migration. The new design will provide a more natural, stream-simulated condition through the existing culvert.
