Reaction Parameter and Dynamical Performance of Gasoline Engine with Oxygen-Enriched Combustion
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
Considering the chemical kinetic study of combustion, combustion progress of gasoline was studied. Based on the chemic balance theory of combustion, ratio of air to fuel and some other parameters, such as heat value, temperature, are studied on a gasoline engine with oxygen-enriched combustion. Experimental investigation was carried out on a gasoline engine with oxygen-enriched combustion, to study the cylinder pressure and dynamical performance under different oxygen concentration. Results show that, as the oxygen concentration in the intake air is increased, heat value of gasoline was enhanced and the maximum value of cylinder pressure is increased, the torque of engine can be enhanced in oxygen-enriched combustion engine. It may be found that, as the oxygen concentration in the intake air is increased from 21% to 24%, the maximum pressure value reaches earlier. When engine works at 1000 r/min, as the oxygen concentration in the intake air is increased from 21% to 24%, output torque of engine is enhanced.
