A Model of Bus Transport Origin-Destination Matrix Estimation Based on User Equilibrium Principium
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009
Abstract
Bus transport origin-destination matrix was an important data of bus transport management and controlling, but it was vary complex to survey and spend a lot manpower and money. Estimation was a simple way of origin-destination matrix data obtaining. The flow of each bus line was treated as the flow between origin and destination, and the sum of all bus line flow in the same transport district was regarded as the total bus transport demand. Suppose bus transport origin-destination number submitted to gravitation model, whose parameter was unknown. Using maximum entropy to work out an initializing data, the data was distributed on the bus network under user equilibrium principium. The result of distribution was compared with the real data, if they were not consistence, adjusting the parameter of gravitation model and reworking, until they were consistence. In this time, the bus transport origin-destination matrix was the final result. This method integrated origin-destination matrix estimation with data proof-test, whose process was succinct, whose result was reliable, and it was especially applicable to obtain origin-destination matrix data in bus network optimization and adjustment.
