Application of Virtualization Technology in Railway Informatization
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
With the development of railway informatization, it has formed three-level computer architecture in railway ministry, railway bureau and railway station. As IT resource infrastructure becomes more complicated than before and the rapidly-changed applications need system platform to be more flexible and dynamic that makes it essential and important for enterprises to build a reasonable information resource management infrastructure. Virtualization technology only considers physical resource as logical resource. It makes full use of all kinds of resource through the integration of heterogeneous resource of mainframe, storage, and network. Virtual infrastructure is managed by logical view. So the responsibility is more obvious between application system and infrastructure. This paper mainly intends to use virtualization technology to realize resource integration and information sharing. Further more, According to the actual situation of railway informatization, combining with the development of IT and our research, we respectively put forward specific policies on server virtualization, storage virtualization, and network virtualization.
