Evaluating Study on Road Danger Based on Amending of Danger Coefficient Method
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
According to the facts of the traffic accidents in recent years in China, the paper thoroughly and systematically amended the original road danger coefficient method. The new method is called modified road danger coefficient method (m-RDC). By using the m-RDC, the authors can realize a quantization evaluation on the danger of the road. In this paper, the authors apply the essential ideas of central limit theorem, combine the analysis of character to traffic accident, and found a mathematic model of the character of traffic accidents. Furthermore, the authors get danger coefficient of evaluated sections by further calculation. In the end, the authors describe the danger degree of concrete sections more correctly with numbers. The study both expresses the dangers of road directly and quantitatively and compares the dangers of different sections of the road.
