Intelligent Marine Traffic System Architecture for Changjiang River

The concept of intelligent marine traffic system is extended from ITS (Intelligent Transportation System), and it hasn't a clear definition. Considreing the experience of developing marine application system, this paper discusses the definition, the construction and key technology of intelligent marine system. With the design ideal for big system, this paper proposes the architecture of intelligent marine traffic system for Changjiang River. The architecture is composed of ENC(Electronic Navigation Charts) producing system, intelligent traffic surveillance system, navigation aids remote control system, intelligent vessel navigation system and integrated support system. It is described every system's function, key technique, interrelation and implement feasibility. Finally, ENC producing system which was developed by our team is introduced.
