The Eye Tracking and Driving Behavior
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
This article introduces the physiological principle of the eyes. It analyzes the basic pattern of the eye tracking of the driver in the driving process. It discusses the influence of the fatigue load of psychology and driving experience to the eye tracking in the driving behavior: The fatigue of the driver can cause the reduction of his/her pupil; the load of psychology can enlarge the pupil; the gazing scope of the new driver is small and it shows the character of the gazing. But the gazing scope of the elder driver is wide and it does not show the character of the gazing. Therefore, there is strong correlation between the eye tracking and the driving behavior. We can study the driving behavior by analyzing the character of the eyes in the traffic safe research of the road.
