REMOTE ACCESS OPTIONS

With universities, research institutions, and engineering firms closing their doors and moving to distance learning or working remotely, we have several options for providing faculty, students, and researchers access to ASCE Publications content from any location.
  • OpenAthens / Shibboleth – We support federated authentication for institutions affiliated with OpenAccess or one of the many Shibboleth Federations around the world.
  • Proxy IP or VPN – Any institution that uses IP addresses to authenticate its users can use Proxy IPs (e.g. EZproxy) or VPN to authenticate users outside the IP range of their institution.
  • Universal CASA (Campus Activated Subscriber Access) – Users can affiliate with their institution when they access content from an authorized campus IP address (including a proxy server or VPN), which then enables continued access to their library’s ASCE holdings when using a device not connected to their institution’s network. Universal CASA is free and automatically enabled for all ASCE Library customers that participate in Google Scholar.
  • ASCE Library User Login – Users who log in to their ASCE Library registered account from an authorized campus IP address (including a proxy server or VPN) will be associated with their institution for a limited time. This association allows the user to access institutional resources when they log in to their ASCE Library registered account off campus, using any device. If you have any remote access needs, please contact ASCE Customer Service and we will work with you.
