Institutional User License Agreement

Institutions will gain access to the ASCE Library through registered Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Both Single-Site and Multi-Site license options are available.

  • For purposes of the Single-Site license, an “Authorized Site” is a single localized site (one geographical location). For an institution with locations in more than one city, each city is considered to be a different site.

  • For an institution that has multiple locations in the same city that are administered independently, each location is considered to be a different site. No access from remote campuses or remote sites and no consortia or other forms of subscription sharing are allowed under the Single-Site License.

  • A Multi-Site license applies to institutions with locations in more than one city (each city is considered to be a different site) or institutions that have multiple locations in the same city that are administered independently (in which case, each location is considered to be a different site).

  • Access from remote campuses or remote sites, and consortia or other forms of subscription sharing are allowed under this license.

Please read the following before submitting your license agreement and/or amendment:


ASCE Account Number. You will need your current ASCE account number before registering. This account number is necessary when processing your subscription/purchase and must be written on the Institutional License Agreement that is submitted to ASCE. Numerous changes in our accounting system require that you confirm your current account number through ASCE Customer Service, or call us at 1-800-548-2723, or 1-703-295-6300.

Prepayment is Required. Full payment of the invoice must be received by ASCE to be granted access to ASCE Journals, Proceedings, E-books & Standards, Legacy Journals Archive, or the Civil Engineering Magazine Archive. For pricing information, please see ASCE Institutional Pricing. Note: Multi-Site License arrangements require payment of a multi-site license fee. For Multi-Site license pricing, please contact ASCE Customer Service.

Institutional User License Submission. Libraries and institutions are required to submit a signed copy of the appropriate Institutional License Agreement and return the completed form to ASCE.

The registered contact at the institution will receive an email from ASCE when your online account is activated. When both payment and the signed license are received by ASCE, please allow 48 hours for processing and registration of IP addresses.
