Resilience Assessment of Urban Rail Transit Networks: A Case Study of Nanjing
Publication: CICTP 2023
ABSTRACT
Transportation is the key to a city’s prosperity, however, there is a possibility that the development and expansion of the city make the transportation system complicated. Resilience is a critical factor for understanding and managing the damage and recovery of the transportation system. This paper uses resilience as an indicator to evaluate the station’s ability to cope with large passenger flows and considers the convenience of passengers traveling at the station. Taking Nanjing Metro as an example, an indicator is proposed to evaluate the operational service level of the station. The resilience of the stations was classified using cluster analysis. Research shows that station resilience is related to the number of passengers and the average number of delays. The station of Line 1 has the worst resilience because of the large number of passengers. The increase in the number of cluster centers will intensify the overlap of the resilience of various stations.
