ABSTRACT

This paper introduces in detail the development and changes of the official urban passenger transport statistical objects, scope, caliber, and statistical indicators since 2009 when the official urban passenger transport statistics function transferred from the former Ministry of Construction to the Ministry of Transport, and proposes the direction for further improvement of the official urban passenger transport statistical system in combination with the new business forms such as customized public transport, the new operation modes such as car-hailing service in China’s urban passenger transport field in recent years and the reform requirements of transportation industry statistics. The purpose is to accumulate empirical data for reforming the industrial statistics system and to provide a reference for improving the quality of industrial statistics.
