ABSTRACT
To quantify the influence of different vehicle models on the intersection traffic capacity, the straight lane traffic flow of a typical intersection in Xi’an, where the flow rate can exceed 1,000 veh/h, is taken as an example. This paper proposes a time-flow method using PCE algorithm of intersection with mixed traffic flow to obtain the saturated headway in different states. Vehicle trajectory information was extracted using the Kinovea software, and the model was established using Python. Finally, the VISSIM micro-simulation of saturated pure car traffic flow is established, and the PCE algorithm is analyzed to improve the theoretical basis for the intersection vehicle conversion calculation. The results show that the PCE value of large vehicles is 2.11, and the error between the standard vehicle number of mixed traffic flow calculated by conversion coefficient and the standard vehicle number simulated by VISSIM is 6.14%. Therefore, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
