ABSTRACT

With the increasing application of clean energy and new power technology in the world, many shipping companies have begun to purchase or entrust to build LNG transportation ships to meet the market demands. Based on the research on the measurement methods of ordinary liquid cargo tank capacity, given the special requirements of the tank material, structure, and form of LNG ships, combined with the characteristics of the tank capacity under ultra-low temperature and pressure, this paper focuses on the research of measurement methods and correction theories of tank capacity. This includes transportation requirements, types of tank shape, environment and safety requirements, measurement steps, and tank capacity correction formulas to ensure that the bulk trade settlement of shipping natural gas is fair, scientific, and accurate.
