ABSTRACT
Aiming at the current pedestrian-priority traffic policy implemented in many cities, this paper studies the traffic characteristics of pedestrians and passing vehicles in a no-signal controlled segment under the pedestrian-priority rules, and discusses the safety psychological characteristics of cross-street pedestrians. Then the pedestrian delay model based on pedestrian priority is established, and the reliability of the model is verified by field survey data. The pedestrian crossing delay under pedestrian priority is compared with traditional pedestrian crossing delay, and the advantages and disadvantages of pedestrian priority policy are analyzed. Finally, some suggestions on the conflict between pedestrians and motor vehicles crossing the street are put forward.
