Scale-Set Model of Public Bicycles Based on Birth and Death Process

Publication: ICTE 2013: Safety, Speediness, Intelligence, Low-Carbon, Innovation

Abstract

Public bicycle rental systems within a certain range of the city are thought of as an object of study because of the number of public bicycle configuration issues, the public bicycle rental process is regarded as a random process. A model for the expectation value of idle and working public bicycle is built by applying the birth and death process. The model displays that the expectation value of idle and working public bicycle is related to the total number of public bicycle, the mean rental-spaced time, and the average working time. Finally, taking the public bicycle usage data of Chengdu high-tech zone as an example, public bicycle resource allocation can be provided theoretical basis by analyzing the use efficiency of public bicycles with this model. This method not only solves the problem relying on the experience to allocate public bicycles, but also makes the implementation of public bicycle rental system more practical and scientific.
