Comparative Analysis of Space Utilization under the Viaduct of Domestic and Foreign Urban Rail Transit

A lot of space under bridges is generated with extensive application of elevated urban rail transit lines, and making use of it is getting more and more attention because of cities' lack of land resources. Domestic research in this field is still in its infancy, while in foreign developed countries it was studied relatively earlier than us, and the theory is comparatively mature. This paper first studies and analyzes the utilization of space under the viaduct between foreign countries and the status quo of Beijing and Shanghai and then puts forward suggestions for improving and enhancing the utilization of the space under viaducts and provides reference for future planning of it.
