Abstract
The impedance function model is widely used as a tool to provide a more accurate description of the relationship between the traffic volume and speed. However, the classical model can only be applicable to the traffic flow with no other influence and the recommended values for the parameters are not fit for Chinese conditions. Besides, impedance function model does not apply to the urban roads with bus stops. This paper summarizes the situation of the current study on impedance function and introduces the classic BPR model. Two bus-stop related factors are chosen as parameters to modify the original impedance function model after conducting qualitative analysis and correlation analysis. The parameters are calibrated by data of Nanjing City. The results indicate that the model proposed by this paper can reflect traffic flow with the influence of bus stops well.
