The Impact of Yichang-Wanzhou Railway on Regional Development

Yichang-Wanzhou Railway will soon put into operation. The constructions of the Railway greatly influenced development of the countries and regions where they are built. But researches on these influences are less systematic. On the basis of the summary of relevant research results at home and abroad, this article briefly analyses the railway construction process and the great construction achievements has made. This article tries to analysis the influences caused by the railway from five facts: regional transportation system, economic system, regional spatial system. ecosystems and national harmony, noting that the project has a positive role in promoting "Cultural and ecological tourism zone in western Hubei province" and the country's "Western Development Strategy", and is also a catalyst for the implementation of sustainable development in the region.
