The Influence of Road Users' Personal Attributes on the Cognition of VMS

Abstract
In order to analyze the influence of road users' personal property on the cognition of VMS, the Stated Preference (SP) survey method has been used. With different types and different areas of motor vehicle drivers of Zhengzhou as the research objects, through the questionnaire survey and related data collection, the effect of different road users' personal property to the transportation induced strategy and route choice behavior of VMS which can provide traffic information has been studied in this paper. The research results not only show that road users' personal property such as gender, age, cultural level, familiarity of the situation of roads, driving ages and the types of their vehicles and so on, can influence the cognition of road users, but also can provide better design, operation and evaluation VMS information release effect provide important reference.
