Study of Fatigue Measurement Based on Eye Tracking Technique
Publication: ICTIS 2011: Multimodal Approach to Sustained Transportation System Development: Information, Technology, Implementation
Abstract
Eye tracking concept and technique was introduced into studying of fatigue measurement issues in aviation field. A fatigue measurement method based on PERCLOS value calculation was put forward in this paper and its frame, process and algorithms were discussed. Then the feasibility and reliability of using PERCLOS value as the fatigue judgment index were studied by eye tracking experiment. The experiment results showed that PERCLOS value is a perfect index for measuring fatigue and the threshold was suggested to be set as 0.5 when eye close threshold is set as 70%. Finally it concluded that the fatigue measurement method based on eye tracking is effective and reliable, and the applicable Fatigue Measurement System was expected to be developed and used in future.
