Publication: ICLEM 2010: Logistics For Sustained Economic Development: Infrastructure, Information, Integration
Abstract
With the increasing cars and number of residents in Beijing, the shortage of urban road capacity has become increasingly conspicuous. In this paper, public transportation network evaluation factors such as the length of bus lines, line density, repeated factor, non-linear coefficient, site density, the average station distance and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology will be used to evaluate the public transportation network in Beijing inside of the 5th ring road to make appropriate improvements. In addition, the article conducts evaluation of the network to reveal the existing problems to find a reasonable solution and further develop the line optimization program. Finally, the results are used to improve public transportation ground to lay the foundation of operational efficiency.
