Abstract
This paper is aimed to realize the numerical simulation, using SCFD, on all functions of PMM (Planar Motion Mechanism) and CMT (circular motion test), in order to get all of the hydrodynamic derivatives, which are vital to ship-maneuverability-design research. So 9 kinds of motions were generalized from captive model tests. And based on the motions' characteristic, the numerical simulations of static drift test, pure sway test, pure yaw test and circular motion test(CMT) were realized, by means of "change inlet-flow's velocity", "Dynamic Meshes" and "region shape design" method. The ship model in this paper is DTMB5415, and in order to advance calculational precision and efficiency, a series of studies on grids, discrimination scheme, scales of computational domain, turbulence model and free surface simulation. The simulation results showed good agreement with that of tank test.
