Abstract
Although cracking-seating technology has been applied to engineering practices successfully, the mechanism of this technology in preventing reflective cracks is not very clear yet. This article starts with the expansion mode of reflective cracks, then goes on to study the redistribution of load stress in the fragments by using fracture mechanics theory and finite element methods. By framing analysis model with the method of ANSYS, the article analyzes the change of shear stress and tensile stress in the construction process and reveals how cracking-seating technology can reduce reflective cracks, vehicle load stresses and alleviate the stress concentration in the overlay effectively.
