Abstract
In order to availably utilize the spot traffic parameter data obtained by the loop detectors, and estimate the average travel speed of the arterial road accurately and quickly, by regress-analyzing the relationship between spot and interval traffic parameters, two estimation methods were proposed, then verified by the traffic simulation means. The results show that the model significantly outperforms the competitor. The model based on modulus coefficient effectively improves estimation effect of single model, and has higher estimation accuracy under the congestion.
