The Method System Based on Screening-Sequencing Two-Stage Model for Selecting the Port Leading Industry

From the angle of constructing the port industry group, the article proposes a idea to select port leading industry, basic framework and the ways to explore. In the first phase, from the qualitative analysis point of view, the paper explores the way to determine threshold value at every stage of the decision tree, and screen for the requirements of the port industry from all the alternative industries. At the same time, to achieve the first stage "screening" model, the author establishes the decision tree about the selection of port leading industry. Therefore, we conduct a quantitative analysis on port leading industry in the second phase; we use principal component analysis and decision theory, and try to conclude the main factors about port leading industry. By getting the design of evaluation index system of the selection about port leading industry, we build "sequencing" model in the second stage. The SPSS V13.0 software is used to verify the model and elicit the demonstrate feasibility and efficiency of the model by a real example from Xin An Port Industry Zone in Lianyungang. In a word, the theory, method and results have important theoretical and practical value in the selection of port leading industry; it can provide optimization theory and methodological guidance for port leading industry.
