Abstract
It is difficult to formulate exact mathematical model of hydrostatic transmission due to nonlinear and time-varying characteristic. Based on fuzzy control and PID control, a new type of self-tuning fuzzy PID controller (STFPIDC) was designed. The comparative performances of the proposed STFPIDC and classical PID controller have been investigated through simulation studies using MATLAB/SIMULINK. From the simulation studies it has been found out that the performance of the proposed STFPIDC is better than classical PID controller when used in hydrostatic transmission speed control system.
