System Analysis of Multifractal Structure in Expressway's Traffic Flux
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
We have used the daily observations on the Ji-Qing expressway's traffic flux and applied the tests from fractal geometry, statistics, dynamical systems theory and systematic engineering theory to support a random fractal structure for Ji-Qing expressway's traffic flux system(Hurst exponent H=0.8425 for total traffic flux). In particular, this evidence is supported by the multifractal structure test. The generalized Hurst exponent declines obviously along with the increase of its rank q.
