Research on the Theory and Application of Road Speed Limit

Abstract
In this paper, the author uses the Ergonomics theory to study this problem. Through the research of the system of driver-vehicle-environment, this paper has deduced the speed limits of human being, vehicle performance, road condition, and environment, and its corresponding restrictive conditions as well. And by this way, the compatible speed of a road can be confirmed. Lastly, this article has discussed how to improve the traveling speed without the reconstruction of the road on a large scale by the means of traffic engineering and traffic management and control.
