Abstract
Although the Process Oriented method has been widely used in the development of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) architecture, the standardization of this method with more specific considerations remains limited. This paper presents an executable and reliable method, named as CERAM, to standardize the development procedure with precisely step-by-step processes. The proposed method is able to deal with several principal points, such as specifying and standardizing the transformations from user services to logical architecture and from logical architecture to physical architecture; ensuring the completion of traceability between different elements defined in ITS architecture; and guaranteeing the data consistency and integrity. Based on this method, a customized web-based software tool, named ITSA-CASS, has been developed. The second version of Chinese National ITS Architecture has been successfully accomplished with this tool.
