Model for Location Planning Problem on Railway Baggage and Parcel Logistics Base and Distribution Sites with Uncertain Demand
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
Logistics base location and distribution sites planning of railway baggage & parcel have important influence on the modern logistics industry of railway baggage & parcel. Because of the fluctuation of railway baggage & parcel transportation quantity during the course of planning and the randomicity of client demand during some time, the paper studies location planning problem on railway baggage & parcel logistics base and distribution sites with uncertain demand. In this paper, probability model and dynamic model of node location are introduced. Combing the two models and practice of railway baggage & parcel transportation, mathematical model for location problem on railway baggage & parcel logistics base and distribution sites with uncertain demand is set up based on certain precondition and assumption. Aiming at the facts that the amount of data required is enormous, parameter/data adjustments are more sensitive, and the complexity of solving models increases consumedly, author puts forward simple and suitable to the practical method of seeking distribution function, making curve fitting, and finding demand of clients according to integrating distribution function. So location problem with uncertain demand is transformed into location problem with certain demand to obtain solution. Computer simulation indicates that the method is simple and suitable to the practice.
