Experimental Research on Mechanical Property of High Performance Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP)
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
The paper is aimed at studying the detailed design and manufacturing of FRP bar and anchorage device as well as mechanical property test method on tensile strength, elastic modulus and rate of elongation, etc. of FRP bar. Statistical analysis of test results, present mechanical property index for structural design of FRP bar concrete is conducted, and method of design hybrid fiber FRP bar is put forward. Test results indicate that stress-strain relation of FRP bar presents linear variation. FRP is superior to steel bar concerning high strength-quality ratio. It is practicable to use FRP bar as a new type of tensile material in concrete structures.
