Premise Plumbing Modeling

Abstract

  • Sponsored by the Premise Plumbing Modeling Task Committee of the Water Distribution Systems Analysis Committee of the Planning and Management Council of the Technical Coordination Executive Committee of the Environmental & Water Resources Institute of ASCE

    Premise Plumbing Modeling examines various aspects of premise plumbing systems and how they have been and could be modeled for purposes of effective engineering design and operation. Special emphasis is placed on highlighting weaknesses and limitations in current premise plumbing modeling efforts.

    Topics include

    Modeling water demands in premise plumbing systems;

    Hydraulic modeling in premise plumbing systems;

    Water quality in premise plumbing systems;

    Hot water systems;

    Instrumentation for premise plumbing modeling, including summary tables;

    Premise plumbing modeling applications and limitations;

    Premise plumbing modeling in the future;

    Glossary of premise plumbing terms;

    Premise plumbing system design and management; and a

    Resource list of webinars on premise plumbing modeling.

    This valuable publication will serve as a reference for water researchers and instruction material for graduate students in environmental science and engineering. It also will provide practical guidance for practicing engineers and water utility personnel involved in building water system management and modeling.
