Elastoplastic Buckling of Single Angle Columns
Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 110, Issue 6
Abstract
A nonlinear, large deformation, finite element analysis is presented for the elastoplastic buckling of thin-walled members with initial imperfection subjected to pressure loading. A combined method of increment and one step Newton-Raphson self-correction is used to trace the nonlinear load-displcement path. Buckling behavior of single angle columns is reported and comparison of computed and test results is given.
