OD Estimation and Job-Housing Spatial Analysis in Hohhot Based on Cellular Signaling Data

As information collection technology continues to advance, cellular signaling data has become an important data set for residential travel analysis. This study uses cellular signaling data to estimate OD (origin destination) distribution. The space-speed constraint method is applied to process noise data. Using the OD matrix, the job-housing spatial distribution is analyzed. The results show that the level of separation between job and residence in the central urban area of Hohhot is high, and commuter traffic has caused serious traffic congestion in the surrounding road network. Moreover, the correlation between the job-housing ratio and regional GDP and per capita GDP is explored. The results suggest the economic development in the central urban area is unbalanced in the four districts. Additionally, to alleviate the traffic congestion in the central urban area, optimization of the distribution of jobs and housing in the city and balancing the development of the four districts are suggested.
