ABSTRACT
In 2017, shared e-bikes were officially launched into the market. Compared to general shared bikes, shared e-bikes have longer mileage range and are more energy efficient, making them more environmentally friendly and more economical compared to cars. However, shared e-bikes also carry greater safety risks. In order to improve the traffic safety problems caused by shared e-bikes, the GPS trajectory data of shared e-bikes in Shijiazhuang was analyzed. Main factors influencing the speeding behaviors of shared e-bikes were studied from various aspects of road conditions and surrounding land attributes based on a logistic regression model. The results show that speeding behavior is mainly influenced by the traffic organization form of separating motorized and non-motorized vehicles, the width of non-motorized lanes, the availability of parking spaces on non-motorized lanes, and the presence of companies in the area around the road. Results can provide guidance for e-bike traffic safety management.
