A PPP Financing Model for Social Capital Participation in Ecological Compensation Practices

Publication: ICCREM 2021

ABSTRACT

China’s economy has entered a new stage of development. The extensive mode of economic development in the past has caused serious cumulative damage to the ecological environment. Therefore, it is urgent to pay attention to and repair the ecological environment. As the main body of ecological responsibility, local governments are often limited by the lack of financial funds, so it is necessary to introduce social funds to supplement the construction of ecological compensation projects. This paper takes the PPP model, a typical social financing channel, as the entry point, innovates its organizational structure and profit model, and proposes an innovative approach to ecological compensation through social financing channels. This path can not only ensure the efficient operation of the whole PPP model, but also enable enterprises to take responsibility for environmental protection and get reasonable remuneration at the same time, to improve their enthusiasm to participate in ecological compensation projects.
