ABSTRACT
Taking the new first tier cities as an example, this paper uses the DEA Malmquist index to evaluate the traffic infrastructure efficiency of new first-tier cities from 2014 to 2018 from static and dynamic aspects. It analyzes its influencing factors by using the multiple linear regression model. The results show that: (1) from 2014 to 2018, the comprehensive efficiency index and pure efficiency index of new first-tier cities are generally low. The scale efficiency index is in the middle level, and there is pronounced heterogeneity in the development of transportation infrastructure. (2) Using a multiple linear regression model to analyze the panel data, the industrial structure, government behavior, and government investment in education negatively impact the efficiency of transportation infrastructure. In contrast, the dependence on foreign investment has a positive effect. New first tier cities combine their own shortcomings to improve their competitiveness.
