Mechanism and Analysis of Parking Reservation Decision-Making Behavior

The construction of parking reservation system based on traveler’s demand has become an important part of parking demand management. Based on reservation mechanism, the parking reservation system was prompted and the motivation of different parking reservation strategies (such as time sharing and real-time) was revealed. The intervention form in parking reservation behavioral model was discussed. Stated preference survey was carried out to obtain the information demands of parking reservation, preference, and parking reservation intention. Parking reservation decision model was established based on binary logit (BL) model and the boundary conditions of traveler’s shifting from conventional parking service to reservation service was analyzed. The results show that factors such as parking fee, reservation fee, and remaining ratio of parking space have significant influences on parking reservation behavior at 95% confidence level. The research an provide a theoretical basis and data support for the construction of parking reservation systems.
