ABSTRACT
With the continuous development and improvement of automatic-driving technology and connected-vehicles, various real-time information is available now. To improve the operational reliability and service quality of buses, a dynamic speed guidance strategy for autonomous buses is proposed in this paper. When it comes to the situation of autonomous buses passing through the intersection, a speed curve planning model based on the trigonometric curve is established with the aim to reduce the number of stopping. The effect of the dynamic speed guidance was analyzed through simulation. Results show that the proposed dynamic speed guidance for autonomous bus can effectively improve the operating efficiency of the bus. The dynamic speed guidance strategy proposed in this paper can improve the operational reliability of buses, thus improving the service level of buses.
