ABSTRACT
Bicycles and the subway are important parts of public transport, and transport a lot of commuting travelers in a city. Analysis of their operation characteristics and transfer mechanism have an important impact on improving traffic efficiency. This paper aims to explore the mechanism of a transformation from subway to bicycle-subway. First, stated preference (SP) survey and revealed preference (RP) survey were designed. Then, based on data of traveler’s mode choice behavior, nested logit (NL) model was put forward, in which threshold was proposed to describe the features of mode transformation. Finally, threshold conditions and threshold tables of the mode transformation were calculated. The result shows that the transfer threshold of subway to bicycle-subway is comprehensively affected by four factors: travel time difference, connecting walking time, transfer walking time, and waiting time.
