ABSTRACT
This paper takes the urban space of the railway station and surrounding areas in central cities as the research object and summarizes the existing problems through the interpretation of relevant policies. The spatial syntax is taken as the research method. Three aspects are studied, which are the site selection of the railway station, the connection between the railway station and urban traffic and surrounding commercial development. The spatial integration degree around the railway station is taken as the main parameter. According to the research conclusion and combining with the actual domestic cases, the comparative analysis of the integration around the station before and after the reconstruction is carried out to evaluate the renewal plan. Finally, optimizing strategies are proposed to provide new ideas for the renovation of railway stations and surrounding areas in central cities in China.
