Abstract
In order to ensure the smooth operation of urban public transportation and improve the level of interference from urban rail transit (URT) disruption events, a compound topology network was constructed and a compound transit node was formed by the URT station and ground bus transit (GRT) stations. A network resilience index based on travel time was proposed and applied to the optimization design of a compound public transport network (CPTN). A two-stage stochastic mixed integer programming model was constructed. Nanjing CPTN was used as the case and three typical URT operation disruption situations were formed according to historical operation data. Results show that the optimized scheme can effectively improve the resilience of CPTN. The proposed resilience strategy and model of the CPTN can cope with a URT operation disruption before an operational failure occurs without additional operating means to ensure that passengers can travel quickly with the public transport.
